Explosion at the Boston Marathon.

I thought I saw one of the suspects' names a while ago, but now I can't find it. AFAIK the initials were MM.

If that's who you're talking about. I don't know how reliable that is though. The other suspect's name was just a mere mention. I don't think this one's any better.

Press conference at Beth Israel hospital; doctors report that suspect who died had "multiple injuries" including blast and possible gunshot wounds.

Yes, that was it. Thank you. Taken with a grain of salt, as you advise. :)

Man.... this internet is an amazing tool... both the good and the bad was exhibited in this case.... but the power is undeniable.

MSNBC just said the Things kept the jacked driver with them for a while during the chase, then I guess... booted him out.

Could that be naked man?

Umm, how exactly do you know that particular kid was the one who was killed?

On a related note, I'm amazed by the number of people here who seem able to determine so much from such fuzzy photographs. You'd think you folks were tracking down Bigfoot or something

Shades of 9/11 truth.

Holy crapballs, the critical thinking around here has suddenly gone all to hell.

Remember: I said it first.

Except here we have two real targets in a sea of noise.

I think a billion pairs of eyes really could help with that.

Bigfoot is a sea of noise in which people eventually imagine targets.

That's the problem. This is no different because those billions of eyes don't belong to professional investigators. The most someone can do is say "hey, I know this guy" and call the FBI. That's not what we're doing here.

P.S the CT sickos on Cluesforum are excelling themselves on this story, make my blood boil! :(

The difference is that truthers come up with hypotheses and immediately declare them to be fact. What people are doing with these photos is coming up with hypotheses and putting them out there for subsequent rejection or verification in the light of analysis and evidence. I see nothing similar to 9/11 Truth claims. Nobody is stating anything as fact. They are just bouncing ideas off of each other. It's a form of brainstorming. And as has already been pointed out, nobody here (presumably) is calling the FBI to report on their theories. Most of us trust that if we figure something out here, the FBI won't be missing it on their own.

I don't think we are in possession in sufficient data to form what could be called a hypothesis in this case. Don't let that stop us, though.

Im in UK timezones arent my friend :)

I was going to edit to say... we in the US have stayed awake with the story as it breaks.

Now starts the bitch of people waking and not reading the last 300 posts before quoting something. :D

And I want to put forward again the idea of calling this pair... Thing 1 and Thing 2. Well, I'm going to. :D

Saw this report -

NBC's Pete Williams says that the suspect at large is not believed to be missing student Sunil Tripathi.

Guess we just need patience

FOX is pushing the foreign nationals angle. Surprise. :(

I really wish they could all cut out the heavy speculation.

They not only shot the guy, plus he blew himself up, they also ran over him.

Then the other guy jumps in the suv again, floors it, blows by police and loses them, like a movie. Lucky bastard and those cops on the scene are losing it probably over him getting away.
