Explosion at the Boston Marathon.

I have a feeling we'll know who they are within the next 24 hours, only the family of the kid who shot the baby in Georgia would cover up for these guys.

Law enforcement officials hope the photos will be seen worldwide. In the three days since the bombing, the suspects may have left the Boston area and could well have left the country, said a law enforcement official who spoke anonymously because he was not authorized to discuss the case publicly.The official said the FBI is also concerned about the possibility of another bombing while the two men remain at large.

Michael Bouchard, a former assistant director of the the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, said investigators probably weighed the consequences of releasing the images. On the one hand, the disclosure could force the suspects to try to change their appearances and disappear, he said. On the other hand, distributing the images worldwide could lead to their identification and capture soon.

“They had to weigh the risk,” said Bouchard, who led the investigation of the D.C. sniper case and is president of Security Dynamics, a consulting firm. “Someone has seen them in their neighborhood. They have a higher likelihood of solving this quickly based on these images.”

OWS type of protester detected. And lets not forget that they did already try to bomb a bridge in April of last year. I'd be looking at old photos of past Occupy protests for these guys.

I think the red thing is a piece of clothing being handed to the woman in hot pink. The person doing the handing is nearly hidden behind the woman with the power stride and cap.

Could be. The cap is wrong on the guy though. The white on the side is much larger than the logo on the front which is the opposite of the released photos.

That assumes that the picture was taken the day or week before he disappeared and that that was his standard go to haircut and that he got a haircut very regularly. I usually get mine cut every three months or so (sometimes longer).

ETA: Or a wig, which may be why he's not too worried about being seen.

I just saw an image on Snopes which is being circulated by Truther-ilk, which sets a photo of a young man who lost both of his legs in the bombings, side-by-side with photos of a double-amputee Army vet who almost kinda-sorta doesn't entirely look unlike the former, implying that the Boston victim was in fact the Army vet dressed up as a "fake bombing victim".

Not playing this "identifying by fuzzy photo" game, sorry.
