Explosion at the Boston Marathon.

Last night (around 11pm Perth time) I was standing on a bus platform with an unattended bag sitting on a bench near me.

Neither I nor the driver of the bus I was catching gave it much thought, never again...

Its Perth dude. You could detonate several bombs and not hit a single person, especially after 6pm.

Yes, and fitness is seen as a "left" thing. Or should I tell the guys that keep calling new jogging/cycling trails communistic that they don't exist?
No, you should just tell them they are wrong. Tell them you know plenty of loyal Americans, some of them veterans, who believe in democracy and freedom but also keep themselves strong and healthy through exercise.

This one is considering running Boston in 2014 just to show that these kinds of attacks won't slow Americans down.

It's an anathema to most of those outside the UK. First time I went on the underground with a Dutch girlfriend she complained about the litter. I told her there were no litter bins and the reason why.

/derail

There may not be litter bins on the London Underground, at railway stations or other sensitive areas, for good reason, but there are plenty elsewhere. Too many people don't give a ****.

Now we're debating whether exercise is a Left/Right issue?

As if the bombing isn't sad enough. Give the politics a break. Even Obama said as much.

I like the way you think.

I just hope there is a Boston Marathon in 2014.

I haven't read the entire thread, so if tis has been asked and answered, forgive me. Who was he idiot at the 8:30 (EDT) press conference that kept trying to ask about the possibility of this being a "false flag" attack? He was well ignored, obviously, but does anyone know if it's one of the usual nutjobs?
Conspiracy nutjob Dan Bidondi from fellow conspiracy nutjob Alex Jones' conspiracy nutjob site Infowars.

So being left wing (by U.S. standards, which would probably be centre-ist in most countries) somehow prevents a person from being a loyal American or from believing in democracy and freedom ?

I have never heard fitness is a left thing. I suspect you have run into a few who believe spending money on something they don't want is communistic.

Not speaking for RB, but I read it as communistic prevents a person from beleiving in democracy and freedom. I would predict RB as kind of center-left (emphasis on center) from his posting history.

Any more this morning? Been so busy with the new puppy no news heard yet. Any leads?

Apparently there is an apartment they are searching in connection with the bombings:

Investigators search apartment after Boston Marathon attacks

The search on the home is connected to a young Saudi citizen who is visiting on a student visa and has been questioned, the official said. So far, the official told CNN, he has not heard of anything being found connecting the person to the bombings.

No, being communistic does.

More than likely.

Pretty much. It really depends on the issue. I'm also running my first marathon in about a week and a half so I am very much aware of how this event has impacted those who have trained hard and qualified for Boston only to have some ******* lunatic ruin it by killing and maiming those who gathered to cheer them on. I had a pretty emotional run before work this morning and I can't really tell you how I feel right now.

Now they are saying there were only ever 2 bombs, the ones that went off. No other explosives were found.

Now, here's another thing that I found especially disgusting.

And I watched this right after reading Stellafanes post about the Andruzzi guy, which had me thinking that the majority of people are actually decent human beings.
Now I'm wondering if I'm wrong...
