Explosion at the Boston Marathon.

A veteran who was there was interviewed on NPR. He claimed he smelled cordite.

Cordite is smokeless. The pictures from the scene suggest otherwise. Maybe (but unlikely due to sniffer dogs) a part of the trigger but certainly not the primary explosive.

Hmmms, could just be a case of running from big explosion while Arab.

My thoughts exactly. If he was "acting suspicious" before the blast there may be something there, if the suspicious part was his running after, that's quite natural.

Last I heard it was also possible a accidental explosion (propane). Has anyone confirmed the explosions were bombs?

They were something like 2 blocks apart. Two coincidental accidental explosions seems unlikely.

The Feds do and this will fall under their purview, book it, done.

I am not so sure it is that clear. IANAL, and just did a few googles, and there seems to be some dispute about whether the fed penalty can subsume what the state allows.

I would be trying to get away from where an explosion took place as quick as possible. Having spent 4 years in the US Army as a Redleg would just make me run the quicker.

I was thinking of the McVeigh trial which involved Federal property so you may be correct although with the current terrorism laws that might not matter.

I have no bomb making knowledge but the guy being interviewed said he smelled it right away.

As for the dogs the bombs could have been placed after they went through the area.

I flew with an olive-skinned guy on Sept 14, 2001. He was nervous as hell.
I keep hearing this description, but most of the olives I've ever seen are either green, or a shade of black much darker than many Africans.

Right? Wouldn't surprise me at all if my 1st Sgt. still tells the story of me noticing the mortar guys running towards us during a live fire & me yelling "****!" & taking off.

Most blacks aren't black and most whites aren't white, either. When someone says olive skin, you know what they mean.
