The saboteurs were never identified. The FBI now believes that the "Sons of the Gestapo" terrorist group was fictitious and invented to conceal a plan to wreck and rob a freight train. It is also thought that the sabotage may have been done by a disgruntled rail worker who used the notes to mislead investigators and conceal the real motive.

Shocking news. With Boston being one of the most important marathons, I know of several people with friends or family running. All are accounted for so far save one, and my thoughts are with everyone caught up in this.

Domestic terrorism is something we got used to for a while over here, but it's still shocking and appalling every time.

Oklahoma Constitutional Militia
Posse Comitatus
Aryan Republican Army
Militia-at-Large of the Republic of Georgia

PETA comes to mind. Anti-abortionists have their share of terrorist factions. Earth Liberation Front has perpetrated a few incidents.

No. Right now the vast majority of what is flying around is speculation.

I guess it depends on how you define terrorism. But that the bombs were deliveratly planted and detonated is an established fact.

I would take almost any news being reported at this time skeptically. In the rush to get a story, TV will report any little rumor that is circulating.

I'll give you that. Anti-Abortionists would be a right wing affiliated (again, in their own minds) group. However they don't go after something like this, they do go after specific locations. Entirely different type of domestic terrorist in that they don't go after random events.
