An article in the Globe (boston.com) says that the mother has explicitly talked to lawyers in order to ensure she won't be arrested if she comes to the US. (She still hadn't decided whether to come, though the father will come.)

One more account saying the older suspect was still alive when the younger one drove over him:
Tamerlan Tsarnaev was wounded in the gunfight and then, law enforcement officials and witnesses said, was hit by the carjacked Mercedes, which his brother used to escape.

Mike Doucette, 27, a chimney sweep who lives on the street, described seeing one brother shot and fall to the ground. He was still moving when the other brother went “screaming up the street” in the S.U.V.

“I yelled to the cops, ‘Watch out!’ ” Mr. Doucette said in an interview. But the car hit the wounded brother, he said, and “his body was tumbling underneath.”

Not necessarily: if the default position is that your posts are untrue unless proven otherwise, we can assume that the claim that nobody cares is untrue.

Earlier, people were puzzling over why they would kill a policeman for his gun, since they later were heavily armed without the officer's gun.

Current news suggests that they really had only one gun the whole evening, despite earlier reports. Which makes the 200 or so reported shots at the gunfight, and especially the later shots at the boat, seem rather overzealous on the part of the police -- but I am certainly not criticizing them for their actions in a very stressful and confused situation.

Would be a good idea for both parents to come and hear first hand from their son what he and his brother were up to.
