I would like to see theists explain this video or this one of Bonobo chimps doing lesbian sex. Why would they do that if it was not something as natural as drinking and eating? Why would a moron god make animals that would do that if he does not like it? Or are the chimps exercising free will to sin?

Heterosexual parents have homosexual offspring. Even if homosexuals never have offspring, as long as homosexuality is not selected against, homosexuality will survive. Take a look at your chest. See the nipples? Did you ever or do you ever expect to lactate?

It seems like atheism should be the larger set/group of which nonreligion is a subset.

Atheists are not theists. They can be non-religious, Buddhists, Animists, and a number of other beliefs.

As your wiki reference states, in the Western world, 'atheist' is mostly synonymous with non-religious.

Atheists are a group just as conservatives are a group. Atheists get lumped into the same bin with all other atheists.

Any portion of people with something in common can be defined as a group, if one so wishes. What you cannot do is infer that this group share other properties than the one you chose to define it by.

So, whether you think it's a creed or not, people still categorize you by your belief.

And whether you like it or not, such people are mistaken. Some atheists may have beliefs, but atheism is not a belief.

Frankly, Justinian2, this is quite easy to grasp, and I think you can understand it, if you want to.

1. As Richard Dawkins has said he is, I'm a cultural christian up to a point - I actually like Christmas carols (I like 'Lord of the Rings' too, but I don't believe in Hobbits). I celebrate Christmas and as my wife and kids are Christians, I even go to church occasionally.

SAme as every other people since the new tradition of 19th century of having a meal and give gift to each others. Please note that despite my family being catholic, only my mother is preoccupied with putting a manger. The rest don't care.
