Y'know, as a way to salvage this topic we could start trying to find "evidence" to support DOC. Not to a very strong degree (as I'm not sure there is that much to support it) but still, it would begin to make up for 340 pages of not all that much. Plus it's a good exercise in forming arguments for when this sort of thing happens again.

FYI, I saved your post for posterity. I only modified the formatting, slightly (ie bolding the terms and standardizing the transitional marks). Some times it's hard to find THAT post after even a few days, so this can make it easier to find.

In reading through DOC’s arguments (and yes I am one of those that has read every post) It appears that there is some fundamental difference in how the two sides are using the term evidence in the context of this discussion.

340 pages of NOT ALL THAT MUCH????? What're you talking about? We've had nothing but GOLD up in here. Gold I tells ya! WE've had DOC Bingo! WE've had "EFWWKTMTWTTT - The Musical"! We've seen the introduction of Nimod the herring and countless artwork from a Pharoah, nonetheless! Where else could you go to get that kind of quality? We've even had one de-conversion and at least one person join the forum all due to this thread.

And If I buy a three chapter pamphlet on how to cure hiccups and after 2 chapters I cured my hiccups, it is not of the utmost importance to read the 3rd chapter, although you might do it as time permits.


As I've said before I've never seen an alleged contradiction in the NT that can't be explained logically.

Did you miss the part where I explained that I used to be a Born-again Christian? I get that you BELIEVE all this rot, but that does not make it objectively true.

And no, the Bible (both NT & OT) are filled with contradictions. Some that can be explained away, but they all speak against a inerrant, literalist point of view of the Bible. But that's for a different thread.

Please, please, please read Waterman's post. I realize that it's somewhat long, and there's no pictures (Pharoah, can you get on illustrating it for us, please?) but it's probably the most important thing you can ever read.
