Hello, DOC? You there?

I'm tempted to add questions, but let's stick with these for now.
I listed my favorite translation.

What is the point it talking about translations, DOC?

In what language was the bible written, DOC?

ETA - In what city was Barack Obama born, DOC?

You seem to have forgotten to make a point.
English Standard Version

1Pe 2:18 Servants, be subject to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the unjust.

1Pe 2:19 For this is a gracious thing, when, mindful of God, one endures sorrows while suffering unjustly.

My point is that it looks like the bible says some servants suffer unjustly because some masters are unjust.

Another point would be that god thinks it's nice when you suffer unjustly; "a gracious thing, when, mindful of God, one endures sorrow".

And neither point seem relevant to anything much.

Those are not other words. Those are, in fact, the same word Lothian used.

OK, yes, I see that now. Lothian does not know what translation his site uses. Or if they use multiple translations.

So is this the evidence that the NT writers were telling the truth that we've been waiting for?

proof that both Jesus and god condone the unjust beating of servants and slaves.

except for illustrating the bizarre cruelty of the christian god.

DOC, considering that you do not speak ancient Greek or Hebrew (in fact, your modern English isn't even that good), harping on the "issue" of translation is not the best way to reinforce your position. You're arguing from ignorance.

I sometimes get the impression he is arguing for ignorance.

It was relevant to Rev. Martin Luther King when he endured sorrows peacefully while suffering unjustly.

Don't you believe your god punishes people for sins, such as adultery? In that case, are you wise to be deciding if god's punishments are just?

Joobz, the bible says God is just. Don't you get a feeling from reading the bible that God will punish the unjust masters that the bible says existed at that time.

Is it just to let people suffer unjustly?

Is it just to beat people who unknowingly break a rule?
Wouldn't it better to teach without physical abuse not to repeat the error?

(tap tap tap) ... is this thing on?

DOC,
You may not realize it, but I'm genuinely interested in why you are talking about translations. Is there a point?
