Ever hear of Common Purpose

Somebody has put a fair amount of effort into attacking the British based organization/educational charity Common Purpose. Couldn't find anything in my JREF searches that indicated either Common Purpose or the stopcp.com site had been discussed here before. The stopcp.com site strikes me as the work of CT thinking, but thought I'd ask the critical thinkers here what they thought.

There are a few youtube clips apparently produced by stopcp, e.g.

and

Yes
They are a management consultancy company.

Thats it.

JB

Apparentlyl quite a controversial one, with the accusation being made they are a poltical group under the cover of a management consultant company. Appears to be a little like the ACORN fuss in the US.

any idea how this is related to CTs?

TAM:)

The stopcp home page has the following:

Common Purpose Motives and the Fabians

The New Labour government is strongly influenced by the Fabians. The ultimate objective of the Fabians is to create a One World Communitarian government. This ties in with the New World Order project.

Common Purpose is a Bilderberg-type group for upper and middle management implementing the Agenda 21, sustainable development and Communitarian policies of the New World Order and is being used to form a New World Order control grid in the UK.

So there's a link to the NWO CT, and, while I've not heard of "Communitarian" or "Fabian" CTs before, I'm betting somebody has. If CP is a Bilderberg-type group, does that mean the real Bilderbergers will be shutting it down/allying themselves with it :D ?

Previously it struck me that UK conspiracists are so desperate for their very own Bilderberg/Bohemian Grove/etc. that they went looking for one, and then decided that Common Purpose was it. It's especially funny seeing the way they misrepresent the Chatham House Rules, which CP operates under, as something quite different to what they actually are.

Continued my digging and there's a chap, Brian Gerrish, who seems to be quite vocal on the CP CT, naturally he had to have some time with CT favorite Alex Jones.
Gerrish is an interesting character. The conspiracists like to big him up, claiming he was a Royal Navy "anti-submarine warfare expert during the cold war" (or variations on that theme), because of course there's nothing they like better than one of the "Others" who turns and joins them (cf. David Shayler), but I could never find anything that wasn't from questionable sources to confirm that was what he had actually done. A couple of months back, however, I was half-heartedly scouting around for material for a blog exposé that never happened, and chanced up this article:

Daily Telegraph: Family accuses hospital of cover up and bungling at inquest

It states: "Mr Gerrish, aged 55, who is a retired Royal Navy Lieutenant Commander with 21 years service and who commanded the protection vessel HMS Orkney..." I immediately realised that this actually refered to fishery protection, and lo and behold:

Wikipedia: HMS Orkney (P299)

Now, fishery protection is, of course, an important function, but it does suggest Cdr Gerrish's qualifications have been exagerrated slightly.

Next time I'm at the National Archives, I must check the Navy Lists....

They talk he held was actually pretty scary and this CP thing seemed quite plausible, quite pervasive and quite english in its operation. I wouldnt put it past em. Oh and you could tell right off the bat the guy was ex-mil to some extent. he prolly hammed it up a bit

Im making a dvd for one of the local training centres. What they beleive is that anyone who works in a certain sector [In this case education] Should have a common set of skills and knowlege.

Quoting from the pack they gave me.

"The common core reflects a set of common values for practitioners that promote equality, respect diversity and challenge stereotypes, helping to improve the life chances of all children and young people and to provide more effective and integrated services. It also acknowleges the rights of children and young people and the role parents, carers and families play in helping children and young people acheive outcomes identified in every child matters."
