just posting to show, not all conservative christians support what Gov. Rick Perry is doing on august 6th

http://www.worldviewweekend.com/brannon-howse/radio.php

is a radio host I am a fan of and he has been very vocal on what is wrong with the response prayer gathering of rick perry's.

btw, I am a conservative christian and I am for prayer (I support the Hollywood prayer network)

I too am against the response cause many of the folks involved in are false teachers who would lead this country and many churches down the wrong path.

and the fact that James Dobson and Don Wildmon (who care more about politics than anything and enables Hyper Charismatic types like Rick Joyner supports this shows this is bad.

and btw, this maybe shocking, but I applaud Right wing watch YT channel at

http://www.youtube.com/RWWBlog

and others on the left

for speaking out on folks like Rick Joyner and Mike Bickle and Cindy Jacobs (who are 3 hyper charismatic loons)

================

btw:

someone should contact conservative radio host mike gallagher.

he said last week on fox news the people speaking out on perry's "prayer" meeting on august 6th are all leftist and atheists

many conservative discerning christians have spoken out and are against the response

but to radio hosts like gallagher, he dont know that or is lying.

For the benefit of those of us who are not conservative American Christians, or even Americans, kindly explain what the "response prayer on August 6th" is, so that we can put your post into context. Thanks!

jon:

the response is a prayer rally that is a call to prayer for a nation in crisis

according to their site http://theresponseusa.com/why-the-response.php

on August 6 2011 , thousands will gather to Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas, to pray for a historic breakthrough for our country and a renewed sense of moral purpose.

They want the presence, power, and person of Christ to fill our nation and turn the hearts of millions to righteousness, peace, and joy in Him.

They want the blessing and favor of a Holy God who loves righteousness and wants to see righteousness exalt a nation in our generation.

it's endorsers http://theresponseusa.com/what-others-are-saying.php (besides Gov. Perry of texas) include

Don Wildmon of American Family Association

Jim Garlow (who is a good friend of Glenn Beck 's)

Congressman Bob McEwen of Ohio

James Dobson of Focus on the Family

Governor Paul LePage of Maine

Max Lucado (christian author)

and you have leaders of Joel Osteen 's church also supporting this as well

This is what's being referred to.

Here's a look at some of the people supporting and attending Governor Perry's Prayer Response on August 6th.

Here's a report about Perry trying to distance himself from the bizarre and extreme statements talked about in the second link, while of course not canceling the event or disinviting any of them.

ant, the fact Perry wont distance or denouce wackos like Cindy Jacobs and Mike Bickle and Rick Joyner shows he isnt qualified to be governor of Texas, little ol the next president

and Wildmon and Dobson should be called out on their support for folks like Cindy Jacobs and Mike Bickle and Rick Joyner

This is starting to seem more about politics and less about religion. Someone care to elaborate on why this response prayer is an issue with regards to religion and/or philosophy?

it isnt. It is a bunch of hyper charismatic types and their enablers like James Dobson wanting GOD to give them power to take over america.

it has nothing to do with bettering america.

the NAR aka New Apostolic Reformation which is heavily involved with this and believe they need to take over america for JESUS to come back. it is what some call Dominionism.

Todd Bentley

Mike Bickle of IHOP
John Crowder
Francis Frangipane
Cindy Jacobs
Rick Joyner

Patricia King
Dutch Sheets
C. Peter Wagner

are among those in the NAR movement.

it is a cultic political movement that cares more about power than spirtual things.

Sarah Palin also has connections to the NAR as well.

Okay.

So far, however, I can't get past the wall of text of names of politicos in the US and a bunch of other nominally famous people.

I don't care one whit what these people think of something. I want to read your thoughts on this response prayer and how it might be a good thing or a bad thing in a religious and/or philosophical view.

Why would god favor one group of humans over another group?

it's bad cause the NAR believes in faith healing and not modern science.

plus seriously, do you want folks like Peter Popoff and Benny Hinn and Harold Camping types running america. that is what the response is calling for

Religious extremists, who believe in faith healing. If they started running things it would be bad for all other religious groups or people of different philosophies.

And honestly if this is my only alternative I'd rather re-elect Obama (despite I didn't vote for him the first time).

Some xian loons in the USA don't like how the world is1 so they're asking their invisible sky daddy to change things to suit them.

1 Especially how women and gays seem to think they have rights........

I like this prayer idea!
I think on August the 7th I will organize a world wide Satan day.
People can gather and sacrifice baby flesh to promote and praise world wide evil.

Thanks Dude!

this makes baby jesus cry, didn't he want people to do their prayer stuff privatly and not public like all the hypocrits that did prayers on the streets? and he also wanted you guys to not plan for the future, and what do they do? they plan a public prayer in advance. :D
