"Entire" Russian Government Resigns.

You can say the same things about Good Old Uncle Joe Stalin, you know....

Even more so about Stalin than about Putin, I'd say. But perhaps only because there are reams of archival material like personal correspondence of Stalin's that can serve as a basis for a biography analysing the person and what drove him. Since with Putin we don't know, it's more of a possibility that he's out for only himself than Stalin who among all other things was a committed Marxist-Leninist.

And I see we have one of Putin's little helpers just, by coincidence, show up here as a new poster after we start a thread pretty hostile to Vlad. How interesting.....

Right, I saw the 'batsignal' projected from the roof of the Kremlin. Must be very comforting and neat to have a self-reinforcing worldview where anyone who doesn't fully agree with you with same conviction must be working for the enemy. Seems like a popular way to think these days, especially in the US, and I can see that it's making political discourse there more pleasant by the day!

It must be embarrassing for Putin, but if they insist what else can he do? ;)

Honestly, I don't understand this ubiquitous irony about Russian power.

Have you tried to scrutinize power in your own country?

Do you think that in the elections you elect those people who really hold in their hands the politics of your country?

Maybe these people are provided to you by the ruling elite that you have never elected in your life?

Maybe all these public figures in your politics act in a very narrow corridor of opportunities that the ruling elite provides them with?

Is that the problem that Putin is facing? Russia's ruling elite has given him a very narrow corridor to walk in?

I did not write anything about Russia in my last posts. On the contrary, I drew your attention to the authorities of your countries.

1) There are some things for that people always fight with each other. I mean money, property, power, etc.

2) If at some time and in some place such fight does not occur, this means that someone won the fight and keeps all other competitors in control.

This is my Great Conspiracy Theory :)

Therefore, if one of the presidents languidly replaces the other president, then this change of power is only an imitation, and not a change in essence.

If there is such a political bullfight as in the USA under Trump accompanied by the endless stream of accusations, scandals and investigations, then this means a real change of power.

Putin again proves he's a liar and a prick.

;)
I'm quite disappointed in Piutin. I'd thought he might have been wangling some more novel way of hanging onto power - if only to show that he could. Instead he chose the conventional "amend the constitution to allow the beloved leader to stay on" gambit.

1/5 for artistic effect

His swapping the premiership with Medvedev was a 4/5 and a sterling effort.

Whataboutism won't work here. Topic of this thread is latest antics of el presidento of biggest banana republic in the world, not any other country or it's leadership.

The topic of this thread is the Russian authorities.

I fully support compare-and-contrast exercises. If you want examine Russian authorities and authorities from some other country side by side, and call out similarities and differences between the two, be my guest. It would probably be a useful and informative contribution to this thread about the Russian authorities.

Simply trying to change the subject away from the topic of the thread is neither useful nor informative. Either start a new thread, or bring your contributions to this one back around to the actual topic.

You don’t think that you will always be able to run away from my questions, right? :)
