Hmmm... Have anyone used a certain software to encrypt files on your computer so that only you yourself can access the file? I´m looking for a software that can offer good protection, and I´m not looking for a free software, but a professional type. It would be very helpful to me if anyone could give me a link to that software´s homepage. I recall that there was a program called something like "Pretty Good privacy" or something like that a couple of years ago. Is it any good?`

Thanks
Jonas

Try here . This is the original implementation of the patented RSA algorithm and is a public key system with scalable key size. It's is also free. It was banned by the US government from exportation under the arms and munitions standard, fortunately the rest of the world already had copies and the Government acquiesced to the inevitable.

Thats why they made an international page also, www.pgpi.com
Until 1999, strong encryption programs such as PGP could not be exported electronically from the USA without a special license. In order to get around this problem, every time a new PGP version was released in the USA, we purchases the PGP source code books from a US book store, shipped them to Europe, and scanned, OCRed and proofread the entire books (over 12,000 pages) to recreate the original program.
