Elizabeth Warren announces her decision to run for U.S. Senate

From what I understand, "fair taxes" doesn't resonate well in general. She should probably pair that language with the idea that they can afford those taxes, so the two thoughts get linked together.

Pretty distorted thinking to me.

If she was a republican I'm sure she'd be called a whacktard, bimbo or something.
Thanks.

Could you explain why? Why is it distorted and why would she then be called a "whacktard" if she were a Republican?

She didn't advocate for rich people to keep 100% of their money, nor did she claim there were Hezbollah missiles in Cuba, nor did she claim that HPV vaccines make you suddenly retarded at the age of 11.

Obviously, passionately explaining why rich people get rich through a combination of great ideas AND societal advantages is exactly the same as those other wacky ideas..

Do I need to explain everything to you?

Actually, I doubt a republican would say anything that socialistic.

But yea I think it's crazy. Somehow a business is indebted to everyone.
Did the entrepreneur not pay those same taxes?
Not to mention whatever startup licenses, taxes they had to pay.

But man they owe everyone else.
Yea, I call that distorted.

How much is enough? So what if they paid taxes? I note they don't want to relocate to Somalia. Businesses like doing business in America as it is likely they will make more money here than anywhere else. So EVERYONE paid to provide the infrastructure. Those who succeed do so because of their own abilities AND because of the good will of Americans past and present. To keep the process moving forward those who get more out of the system are going to have to pay more into the system. Nothing distorted about that.

So is the idea to extract as much as possible from publicly funded resources and pay as little as possible to do so while the economy bottoms out and infrastructure crumbles?

Seems a little short-sighted for any entrepreneur or business owner to engage in such behavior.

Just curious, and too lazy to google it myself. Is the seat that is up for re-election Brown's or Kerry's (I am assuming Brown's but thought it would be best to ask to make certain)

I love Warren but why in the hell did she wait until she was practically a sand bag to start running for offices in this nation? She and Brooksley Born should've been running for high offices in the 90's together. Her, Clinton, and Born would've made one hell of a team. I'm sure if they had done this stuff back in the early thousands there may have been a woman in the presidential office decades earlier. If they had teamed up back in '08 I doubt Obama would've gotten in.

It's Ted Kennedy's old seat. Brown beat Martha Coakley to take the seat after Kennedy died, and now Democratic candidate Warren will try to unseat Republican Brown (most of which you probably know).

Why does she shake so much? Does she have a medical condition, or does she think it shows passion?

And she's going to make sure that GE pays more taxes than a middle-class family? Good luck with that.
