Erm, Trump was the one saying she was an Indian, and making fun of her for his own invention as a result. So is she or is she not an Indian, Donny? She had the test, she has Indian heritage, it's official, as Warren claimed she did. So is Donny now suddenly an authority on DNA and native history and heritage? Warren hasn't lied, and she has facts. Donny walks away...again.

Everyone knows Donny is a spineless coward who welches on his obligations as a matter of course. This is just the latest of a very long series. It's not earth-shattering in importance at all, but it is yet another example of his complete disregard for integrity and honesty, and his utter, utter selfishness. Exactly the sort of person you want running the USA.

You ignore the fact she labeled herself as a minority, and several times through the years has labeled herself as NA. (when her DNA tests proved she cannot be eligible to be in a tribe) All good.

But lets talk about integrity, and honesty, and forget all of those things she said over time.

Who said any of them were official documents? What was said is: She claimed to be a minority, and she claimed to be Cherokee on the recipes.

It doesn't have to be "an official document". It has to be somewhere she has actually made the claim. It's been pointed out countless times now, but its fine is you'd like to keep your head in the sand.

Right, so you objections are meaningless. Got it!

It's obvious there are no "official documents" that show her to be NA or Cherokee, or minority. Only her claims. Her DNA test proves she is not eligible to be in a tribe.

I'm not seeing anywhere that she is claiming tribal affiliation.

ETA: Oh, and

Please, talk about Trump dishonoring himself, when you ignore Warren dishonoring not only herself, but "undermining tribal interests" according to Cherokee Nation.

Your blatant whataboutism is noted!

Now we know for sure to never bet against Trump because he will never honor the bet.

Prior to this, we could only speculate that he'd never honor a bet based on his dishonesty.

I had forgotten about her contribution to the Pow-Wow Chow cookbook; if she was a Republican that name along would have people in a frenzy.

ETA: This confirms for me that Warren is running in 2020. There is no need to do this to satisfy the citizens of Massachusetts.

Probably best not to use a word with a racist etymology ("welch" most likely comes from "Welsh").

I mean, I don't think it's a big deal that you use it, but a politician on the national stage should probably avoid it -- unless his last name is Trump, obviously.
Just to be niggardly, there is no actual evidence that welch (note the spelling) comes from a pejorative usage against the Welsh. All there is is conjecture or rather speculation it may have done.

Based off of the lineage, this would put it within the founding of the US, roughly.
By that token, I know a lot of people who proudly trace their ancestry back to a signer of the Declaration, or a colonist aboard the mayflower.
Heck. The upper end of the range would put the ancestor alive at the time of the Civil War.

And your point is?

Has Warren made any statements about her ancestry in the last 34 years since the book was put out?

Rather than republican examples which stayed pretty true to form, it's only due to this being raised by Republicans that I was aware of it in the first place, as well as the attempts made to correct the record since.

Many of the same people who are quick to write off the ancestry also are proud of or would be proud of to count a member of those equally distant in time events.

You are quite correct. I know plenty of people that proudly claim Irish, German, English...etc heritage based on ancestors many generations ago. For some reason, Native American heritage is more scrutinized by the Right Wing these days.

Maybe you've forgotten but I made my opinion clear on Kavanaugh. I would've voted no. Not based on Fords Allegations, but based on his testimony.

When did Warren under oath claim that she was a Native American?
What position is she applying to that would require "advise and consent"?

Not sure this is reliable but found this.

*snort*

She provides proof she lied and Dems declare victory. Nothing unusual about that. A large dose of confirmation bias mixed in with some nebulous DNA results and we finally have "proof" that Fauxcanontas is indeed a squaw. Give me a break.

I bet many here would be questioning the validity of this test if the results came back saying 0% Native American ancestry.

I bet you are projecting big time here.

Because of the narrative that the trash human beings that constitute the right have bought into.

Namely that Elizabeth was just sitting around in a trailer in Oklahoma binging in drugs and doing nothing productive until Harvard came calling and said "hey, you claim to be full blooded Cherokee, we will make you a professor in our law school even though you are clearly just an uneducated white woman high on drugs!" Then she took the job and Liberals fell in love with her because we all worship Satan.

So, for the degenerate trash that constitute the right, this is a really big deal. Their diseased fantasies are all built around it.

Please do explain why we should care, at all, what the Cherokee Nation thinks. This was about genetics, not what some Tribal administration thinks.
