I do this and make egg and bacon "McMuffins" with toasted English Muffins and cheese.
I did that just this morning, with my last free-range brown egg. I could have bought a dozen of those same eggs yesterday for less than twice the price of the half dozen ordinary ones, but they'd still be in the fridge until about July because I just don't use them often.

Orphia, do you microwave them with the yolk intact?
Can't speak for Orphia, but I tend to to give them a light poke to prevent explosions. That's assuming I've managed to get an intact yolk on cracking, see below
That is very strange - I can think of anytime when I've cracked open a raw egg and had a broken yolk. Have I been exceptionally lucky all my life? If so why couldn't my exceptional luck have been about lottery tickets.
Lucky or good technique. I manage an intact yolk about half the time.
 
One trick I found was not to crack eggs on the edge of a plate or pan, but on the flat counter. I almost always use only one hand and can separate a shell that way. Most of the time I get an intact yolk although if I'm too aggressive I sometimes but rarely get a little piece of shell in there. Of course, there is usually some residue on the counter which must be cleaned up.
 
I crack egg on the flat portion of any container I'm using to put the egg yolk and whites in. Cracking on edges tend to create more opportunity for shells to get into the scramble.
 
I know that ideally one should crack it into a ramekin first for ease of removing shell bits but I usually don't want to have to wash an extra dish.
 
Eggs can be $400 a dozen and as long as it pisses you left wing degenerates off!

Another thing about eggs: Every time I plan to make an omelet, when I crack the shells, the yolks are intact. When I want what I call "sunny side up," about half the time one of the yolks is broken, so I end up with an omelet anyway.
I prefer sunny side up, but my track record is about fiddy-fiddy in getting both yolks intact. Don't get me started on ending up getting both yolks out of the pan; I'm off butter and only use a quick spray of propellent-free olive oil in the non-stick pan. You gotta gently urge the eggs out with a rubber spatula; speaking to them softly sometimes works.
 
Stare at any egg long enough and it'll crack on its own. They can't handle the pressure.

This is a USA problem! On my evening dog walk I asked folks about cracking eggs and no one ever has a broken yolk.

If you like them that way, sure.

I like mine either up (unbroken) or scrambled. My wife likes them over hard. But intentionally breaking the yolk and frying is not the norm, I don't think.
 
I eat eggs as ingredients, typically in baked goods (I'm a MAMIL and cake and coffee features prominently in my diet) but today I had two fried eggs in a sandwich. The cafe undercooked them and so it's not an experience I intend to repeat any time soon.

Sorry (not sorry) to flaunt the fact that eggs are readily and affordably available here in South East Wales.

I don't think there is a usual method. There are more ways to cook eggs than you can shake a stick at. Scrambled, or as an omelette or frittata, Sunny Side Up, Sunny Side Down. You can fry them until the yolks harden or keep the yolks soft and runny. Poached. Eggs Benedict is probably my favorite. Hollandaise sauce is fantastic. I love the way they make scrambled eggs in Japan. I've tried that trick with chopsticks and it never works for me.

I'd say Sunny Side Up is the simplest.

No, I spread the yolk around a bit using an eggshell half as a knife. I prefer that sort of yolk coverage.

Sometimes I even nuke it with the bacon on top to save time cooking the bacon elsewhere. Same as Macca's anyway!

Top tip: smear some butter around the ramekin with some paper towel before adding the egg. This helps cleaning afterwards, because egg tends to stick to the ramekin if you don't.

I don't know if you should. I doubt there is anything to learn in this thread.

But I do know this. Trump while campaigning focused on inflation and the price of eggs. It is very likely a big key to why he won. But since becoming President, the issue of inflation and the price of eggs has all but disappeared. Trump is very good at blaming others for problems. But absolutely impotent at coming up with answers on addressing them.

So instead of debating non-existent policies for addressing the price of eggs, what's wrong with talking about how we like to cook them?
