[Ed]Hardfire with Mark Roberts and Arthur Scheuerman

They correctly took precautions in case of a partial collapse or debris falling. You know, like they do with every high rise fire.

But why? Fire doesn't collapse steel buildings, remember?

The FDNY judged that WTC7 would collapse. Once it did, the FDNY expressed no surprise.

This leaves you with the same uncomfortable question staring you in the face:

When the FDNY concluded that WTC7 would collapse, were they lying, or are they just not as smart as you?

Fire can partially collapse buildings, like the windsor tower.

It can't completely demolish a 47 storey skyscraper into a neat little pile.

As you know, the Madrid tower suffered only a partial collapse because it had a CONCRETE CORE.

Did WTC7 have a concrete core, JH?

How do you proprose fire would sever all the core columns at the same time?

Why were the FDNY not so concerned about 5 and 6. They suffered far more damage and had fire on every floor, but they didnt collapse.

So what are the precautions for total collapse?

Why do you continue to spew your ignorance towards a topic you clearly have no idea about?

How come the eyewitness testimony of firefighters on scene isn't sufficent enough for you?

At last, a concrete statement: you, a know-nothing, claim that fire can't bring down a 47-story skyscraper; the FDNY believes that fire is capable of doing just that. What do you know that the fire department doesn't?

Arthur e-mailed me a 13-page paper on WTC 7 (2.78 MB). I'd like to make it available to the regulars on this forum, but I don't know how to do it. Any suggestions?

Are you saying that you watched a half-hour show and didn't understand anything that was said?

No, I said a single photograph of the fire. Go.

You've seen plenty of photographs of the fire. You say there were small fires so you prove it.

That vid was an FDNY member saying the building was going to comedown yet you said...
Collapse zones are standard. They did not know it would collapse.

Is the FDNY member the only one who knew it would come down?

Did he claim that he had seen the damage and assessed it or was he repeating something he was told?

talk about moving goal posts. a single photo wont show you the SEVERIty of fires that RAGED over 1/3 of the building.

You are again playing a semantic game, and that's all the you truthers resort to.

The severity of the fire WAS DETERMINEd by those who have EXPERTISE in evaluating it.

that.

SEVERAL firefrighters are on RECORD that state the FIRE was UNCONTROLLABLE. THERE ARE MANY reasons why they couldn't control it, one reason is that they didn't havE WATER to fight it. What happens to fire when no one is there to fight it, JHarrow? IT GROWs, by consuiming all the fuel it can get. THE FIRE Burned in that building for nearly 7 hours.THERE is a lot of fuel to burn in a 47 story high rise building.

Stop playing this game, Jharrow. You *(&680 is not tolerated.

And you were told how to verify those claims. WHy are you so chicken to not call the FDNY if you dont believe what they stated?

It didn't have to. When some support columns fail, the weight is then redistributed. If the remaining supports suddenly find themselves carrying more weight than they can carry, they will also fail within a fraction of a second.

In Twoofer Land, when supports cannot hold up their assigned weight, if takes minutes, if not hours, for them to fail.

Why were the FDNY not so concerned about 5 and 6. They suffered far more damage and had fire on every floor, but they didnt collapse.

I think it might have something to do with the height of those buildings (9 and 8 stories) as well as the kind of damage sustained.

Yet again, in your world we find that all buildings and all types of damage should produce the exact same results. And you wonder why people laugh at you.

Did he claim that he had seen the damage and assessed it or was he repeating something he was told?

Watch the vid.
@ 00:09, "You see where the white smoke is? You see the thing leaning like this? It's definitely coming down. No way to stop it."

Hmm... I see no "they told us" in there. He says "You see the thing leaning like this?" Sounds like an assessment right there.
