In this promotional spot for the British eco-activist organization 10:10, a schoolteacher encourages her students to reduce their carbon footprint by 10% by the end of 2010. When two students express disinterest in the idea, she explodes them, showering their classmates with gore.

Subsequent scenes show a corporate executive exploding uncooperative employees, and a British football team exploding a dubious Frenchman(?).

I know the ideal on these forums is to post an opinion on the topic, rather than just a link, but to be honest, I can't really beat the Telegraph's James Delingpole for pith: "Eco-Fascist Snuff Movie" pretty much says it all.

You're more than welcome to offer your own opinion, but like the promo says... "no pressure".

Well, even Osama Bin Laden has come out against "climate change" now,so anything goes...

umm....I think this puts AGW proponents in a bad light.

wanting to murder folks who don't think they should have to change their lightbulbs to flourescents, is not cool...or funny.

At first I thought it must be some parody aimed against self-righteous AGWers.
Apparently not... what with it being made by self-righteous AGWers.

this makes GREAT propaganda for folks who say that AGW proponents are intolerant and wish harm upon those who dare disagree with them.

counter-intelligence? false-flag?

I dunno what they were thinking. But it IS amusing watching mouth-breathers over at sites like Watt's Up With That? go into convulsions of outrage and hysteria. Maybe it was just an elaborate troll by some wag in the production team, if so it worked like a charm :p

I think the ad gets that message across in a very effective way.

no, the ad suggests the lives of those who question AGW, or who simply don't want to adjust their lives due to it, are worthless. they should be killed.

that's the message of this video.

If one is advocating violence, then I agree - it's a great ad.

It's a play on the 'revolution' bit in their Energy Revolution campaign, I've seen sports-drink ad's more menacing than that, stop being such a prima donna already.

Where does the ad say anyone should be killed? Hyperbole much?.

Ok, the video doesn't work. They missed the mark.

But really, all this frothing over a bit of self-mockery? Environmentalists know what people think of them and they know that passion can make them go a bit over board. Combine those and you get the reputation that they played with in the film.

There's actually a decent idea in there but it would have needed Monty Python at their finest to pull it off.

You're not far away from Python actually: They were written by Richard Curtis of Blackadder, Mr Bean, Bridget Jones fame.

Ahhh...see there's your problem. Black Adder is amazing but Mr. Bean, not so much. Slapstick this broad needs a surprisingly subtle touch and Richard Curtis doesn't quite have it.

Although I must say, Gillian Anderson looked gorgeous!

Funny, I didn't expect to like that piece, but it's actually pretty solid apart from the bit where he promotes his other story that tries to smear environmentalists with the actions of the nutcase bomber who thought the discovery channel was anti-environment (which, incidentally, is why I had low expectations of this).

err...um...all of the folks in the scenes, that do not want to contribute to the struggle against AGW, blow up...making a bloody mess.

I assume they are killed. hence the blood and guts.
