Ear stapling for weight loss?!?!?!

I suppose this ear staple thing is kind of like tying a string around your finger to remind yourself not to smoke.

I do like the staple diet joke... :)

I was told by a lecturer who was really into B.F Skinner that she managed to cure herself of a nasty habit by putting a rubber band around her wrist and snapping it whenever she started indulging in the nasty habit.

She wouldn't tell me what the nasty habit was, but she claimed she stopped after getting sick to death of snapping herself!

Maybe that's a theory behind it... pah, rather go for the rubber band, myself. Can get a whole packet easily for around $2 here.

My parents went to some seminar years ago where I *believe* it was Depak Chura, or whatever the heck his name is was using that as a stop smoking method.

They wore rubber bands on their wrists and snapped them every time they wanted to smoke.

Both are still smokers. Aversion therapy doesn't work for addiction, which has been demonstrated numerous times. :(

I do have the ultimate secret to weight loss. It works *every* time without fail, for every single person. And I won't even charge for sharing my knowledge! Burn more calories than you intake.

It's AMAZING how that works. (And yes, I can stand to lose a few myself, so I'm not mocking people who've tried to lose weight). Unfortunately many people have tried various methods and failed and people seem to want an 'easy' method to do it, and are willing to do all sorts of silly things, rather than diet modification. :(

Yeah, I had my doubts - seemed really hokey, rubber bands. But I'd rather try that than staple myself. Yeesh, but is it worth it if it doesn't work???? At least my lecturer never paid to see some sort of 'guru' tell her to do it. Better yet - never take up the habit in the first place!

Weight loss - totally agree. Change the lifestyle and get off the couch always a good start! :)
