E-mail hinting Obama is Muslim Fanatic

Hi Everybody!

So today I received an e-mail from my mom.

Who is Barack Obama?

Probable U. S. Presidential candidate, Barack
Hussein Obama, was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Barack
Hussein Obama, Sr., a Black Muslim from Nyangoma-Kogel,
Kenya and Ann Dunham, a white ATHIEST from Wichita, Kansas.

Obama's parents met at the University of Hawaii.

When Obama was two years old, his parents divorced. His
father returned to Kenya.

His mother then married Lolo Soetoro, a RADICAL Muslim from
Indonesia.

When Obama was 6 years old, the family relocated to
Indonesia. Obama attended a MUSLIM school in Jakarta.

He also spent two years in Catholic school.

Obama takes great care to conceal the fact that he is a
Muslim. He is quick to point out that, 'He was once a
Muslim, but that he also attended Catholic school.'

Obama's political handlers are attempting to make it appear
that Obama's introduction to Islam came via his father, and
that this influence was temporary at best.

In reality, the senior Obama returned to Kenya soon after
the divorce, and never again had any direct influence over
his son's education.

Lolo Soetoro, the second husband of Obama's mother, Ann
Dunham, introduced his stepson to Islam. Obama was enrolled
in a Wahabi School in Jakarta.

Wahabism is the RADICAL teaching that is followed by the
Muslim terrorists who are now waging Jihad against the
western world.

Since it is politically expedient to be a CHRISTIAN when
seeking major public office in the United States, Barack
Hussein Obama has joined the United Church of Christ in an
attempt to downplay his Muslim background.

Let us all remain alert concerning Obama's expected
presidential candidacy.

The Muslims have said they plan on destroying the US from
the inside out, what better way to start than at the highest
level - through the President of the United States, one of
their own!!!!

ALSO, keep in mind that when he was sworn into office - he
DID NOT use the Holy Bible, but instead the Koran (Their
equivalency to our Bible, but very different beliefs)

Please forward to everyone you know. Would you want this man
leading our country?......NOT ME!!!

She received this e-mail from someone she knew and basically asked me if this was true. I didn't even bother answering her and instead said I though it was a religious hate letter and that a candidate shouldn't be judged by his religion but by what he says he will do and by what political actions he has taken in the past.

What does everyone else think about this?

Yuck, I hope your moms computer was infected with a virus that sent that to you (instead of sending it herself). Be much better if that were the case.

I don't really think that letter warrants any thinking about it.

But, but... his middle name is HUSSEIN! Don't you people get it?

(yes, I'm being sarcastic)

Well, without sources you don't have any case at all.
His Wikipedia entry (including sources) don't confirm
these accusations ... So where did they came from in
the first place? And how does this relate to Obama
himself? :boggled:

Total complete frickin' lie, isn't it?

A dirty stupid smear.

Well, actually, I've read his first book, Dreams From My Father, and he did attend a Muslim school while he lived in Indonesia. But the insinuations in that email are, to my mind, having read The Audacity of Hope as well as researched his career, BS, not to mention inflammatory. This is a well-known propaganda technique called a "whispering campaign."

Obama is within margin of error for taking Iowa. If he wins Iowa, he can use the momentum to win despite the nationwide polls showing Hillary in the lead.

Expect more of this nonsense until Hillary gets ahead in Iowa by 10 or more.

Even if the statements were true it shouldn't matter anyway. There is supposed to be a separation of church and state. Whether he is Christian, Buddhist, or Muslim shouldn't affect the reason you do or do not vote for him.

Do you really want a president that's only one letter away from Osama?

This is main reason I don't think Obama will win the Democratic party nomination. We are talking about a party in which being a devout Christian is not as important (being as they tend to have stronger support among "liberal" atheists, Jews, Muslims, etc.); but when going for the Presidency, they have to try to get support away from those who would otherwise vote Republican, also.

Obama's Muslim past is already an issue -- and a rather negative one -- before they've even had to make a serious effort to appeal to the Christian right. If the primary goal of choosing a party candidate is to choose the candidate with the best chance of getting elected, Hillary would seem to me to be the best choice. If they choose Obama, when it comes time for Presidential elections, the Republican Party will scream to high heaven about Obama's Muslim past, and we'll see smear campaigns far worse than what we have now. With the current Muslim paranoia, Obama will become unelectable.

Personally, Obama would be my favorite candidate out of anyone who has declared so far. But I don't think that the environment in the U.S. is ready for the election of a President who is both black, and who has a Muslim association.

As for the opening post, I guess small-minded people consider scary words to be even scarier when they are in caps (e.g. "Ann Dunham, a white ATHIEST from Wichita, Kansas"). Apparently some words are so scary that these people cannot even spell them correctly.

. . . . . . . . .
If the primary goal of choosing a party candidate is to choose the candidate with the best chance of getting elected, Hillary would seem to me to be the best choice.

I disagree here. There are people that hate Hillary so much that they will register to vote just to cast a vote against her. There are a lot of people in the middle (or more precisely on the fence) who really don't want her to be president.

and then the nonsense will switch to Hillary....

and like the swiftboat nonsense, it will work on enough people to make a difference.

It´s called the "Big Lie" technique.

Totalitarians and would-be totalitarians all over the world, throughout history, are very fond of it.

This is a little off topic, but why do people hate Hillary?

Most people I know think she is a fake populist.

I've actually never met a Hillary supporter...

But yeah, people are already emailing quotes from her that are claimed to mirror those of Hitler and Stalin. They're pretty funny, and completely untrue. But it already looks like all the Hillary haters are going with "OMG she's a Socialist!!1"

This is a little off topic, but why do people hate Hillary?

Because she is the wife (and rumored power-behind-the-throne) of Bill "Evil Incarnate"* Clinton?

*with "Evil Incarnate" being a reasonably accurate summary of the Big Lie surrounding Clinton´s presidency.

Last night I did a little reading about Hillary and Obama and Giuliani, and watch a few of their speeches and it seems to me like many of their opinions are very similar. They word things a little differently, but on many issues they are along the same lines.
A voter is supposed to vote for the candidate that shares most of their own opinions on the issues. However, today's voters are either so uninformed or so apathetic concerning politics that the only thing they base their vote on is lies, rumors, newspaper articles, and tv media.
