Dutch pedophile political party disbande

AMSTERDAM (AP) - A Dutch political party formed by self-described pedophiles has voted to disband itself after failing for the second time to participate in national elections in June.

The group, which sought to lower the age of sexual consent to 12, says it could not get the 600 signatures necessary to win a place on the ballot in a country of 16.5 million. It would need 60,000 votes to win a seat in the 150-member Dutch parliament.

The party also failed to meet the threshold in 2006, when its creation caused an international sensation.

The group's founders said Monday that debate about the party had prevented any substantive discussion of its goals.

The Party for Brotherly Love, Freedom and Diversity, known by its Dutch acronym PVND, said members voted Sunday to dissolve.


I think they are lucky they weren't lynched.
 
In related news, the National "Kill Puppies" and "Bring Back Cop Rock" parties are miffed at their lack of inclusion in the debates for the upcoming elections.

No, it appears to be pretty much a non-evidence-based decision.

There's some evidence that early sexual activity (pre-18) correlates with poorer life outcomes once you control for everything else like family situation, although the cause of that is anyone's guess, and correlation isn't necessarily causation. Lots of people who start having sex well before 18 turn out just fine, but they do seem to be (for whatever reason) at greater risk of mental health problems, lower long-term income potential and whatnot.

Research into the life outcomes of people having consensual sex at 12, as advocated by this lot, was close to nonexistent last time I looked because almost all studies lumped all sexual activity at that age into the same category, so child abuse and consensual sexual activity got bundled together. However the results of the properly controlled studies with older kids give us no reason to believe that lowering the age of consent to 12 would be a good thing for the kids in question.
 
I'm no doctor but I don't believe the sex organs, brain or body, is fully developed at 12. Not by a long shot. At 12 no one is considered an adult in the eye of the law. So allowing a 12 y/o to be an adult on sexual matters and not with all the others has no justification that I can see. There are exceptions to a minor being treated as an adult but only when authorized by a judge, as I understand it. Doing so is clearly sick, in more ways than one.
Was this instigated by the Pope? He may be looking for a safe haven to send their child raping clergy. With only a population 16 million, Amsterdam might find it hard to take on so many priests, cardinals and bishops from every country on the planet or have enough young males up to the task. It wouldn't surprise me. SS
 
But interesting enough, the pedo party "only" wanted the age of consent be reverted back to 12.

Nitpick: the party's name is (was) PNVD. Here is their website. Lynching: that goes a bit too far, but they've been subject to severe criticism.

As a further detail: the Netherlands is divided in 20 electoral districts, and you need 30 signatures per district to register there. Many of these fringe parties which don't stand a chance to get a seat do indeed register in only a couple of districts. So it seems they weren't even able to get 30 signatures in a single district.

That's not true. According to the Dutch wiki (link), before 2003, pedophilic acts with children above 12 were only acted upon by the police in case of a complaint. That's something quite different.
 
I just took a look at the site,their manifesto seems to have been written by a bunch of brain damaged old hippies.

It's a strange mishmash of libertarian ideas and liberal/social-democratic ideas - apart from the pedophilia thing of course which was their main point.

And the manifesto is inconsistent. See these three points:

Maybe when 12 year olds start demanding their right to have sex with creepy 40 year olds, then groups like this will be taken seriously.... although I doubt it.

I remember seeing some pro-pedophile site which took that angle - that they were fighting for the "sexual freedom of children in the face of age discrimination" or some such; although the site seemed to be run entirely by adults.

Having volunteered with at risk kids quite a bit, I have had quite a few experiences with young girls getting involved with much older men. It's always the same story (*in my experience only). Girl comes from a home in which she is abused or neglected by one or both parents, or is in foster care. Some old man shows up and promises he's going to be her new daddy, that he loves her, that he's going to take care of her. Acts as if he's the paragon of altruism. These girls don't enter into these relationships looking for SEX but for someone to take care of them.

This is also how prostitutes often start out. Most people don't realize that the average age a girl starts hooking is 13-14. Pimps know that young girls who are either abused, neglected, homeless, etc are desperate and vulnerable, and they take advantage of that. Take in the girl acting like a father figure, spoil her, convince her you love her, get her defenses down, then ease her into hooking, and keep her there with abuse and threats.

I'd highly recommend the documentary "Very young girls."

That young girls who get involved with much older men typically have no sex education and little working knowledge of sex in general. This child prostitution crap happened in Atlanta ga and some girls age 12 were taken into custody. The pimp was given a long prison sentence as were several of the Johns. The girls were placed in foster care hopefully into a home where the male wasn't a pervert.
 
Actually the sad thing is that most child abuse is incestuous. This party claims (point 9.2 on the site) that for "dependency relationships" like between teacher and student and incest, the limit should be 16 years old. They want to eventually not have any age limit as it is "not giving consent" that should be punished. So they think incest is fine. In fact in the previous version of their website they considered parents "playing" with their children as good sex education.
On their previous website they also had photos of young children on them. Where are their parents? A guess is that these members are the parents (or they are kidnapped?) so you know they are most likely being abused. They also found that pedophilia was being demonized like gay people and they should just be able to speak to the parents of these kids about their sexual relationships. Another point where a prominent member, Norbert de Jonge, shows his naivety is that he is open about his pedophile ideas, yet wants to be accepted to a university to study pedagogy and teach on kindergarten.
Ad van den Berg, another leading figure who is 66 years old in a documentary http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvqqhvcjSec&feature=related (sorry Dutch ) admits to have a relationship with a 13 year old boy, whose mother does not know anything about it. He forbids the crew to contact his parents. he also says that small children love sex, they play with their genitals regularly and this is proof of it :confused:
I cannot help to wonder why these people were not arrested in the first place.

What are these properly controlled studies with older kids? That sounds like weasel words. The studies I am aware of showed no "psychological damage" to 14 and 15 year olds who had (simple) consensual sex with legal adults, much less damage "akin to being severely mauled by a dog".

It is the fraud of that claim, at issue, which is a rationalization to support the "icky-innocent" cultural aspect as the real reason behind the law.


Of course, perhaps this idea has won out and been acknowledged, and the "icky-philes" have moved on to a new rationalization: pregnancy and "poorer life outcomes" qua hillbillies, I suppose.
