Merged Due process in the US

In a moment of positive news on the subject of due process -

Judge Rips Government For Lack Of Any Evidence In First Due Process Case Under Alien Enemies Act

In short, the case that the Trump Administration brought was a WTF case. The case that the government brought against the woman fared horribly on inspection, but I'm too lazy to delve more deeply into it. The case against the man is simpler, but not really much different in fundamental nature, so I'm going to poke at it.

Proof! That the Trump Administration is absolutely not to be trusted to forgo due process.
The most interesting thing is that the judge was so appalled by the case brought by the government that he has issued a district wide order preventing deportation under the enemy aliens law without 21 days notice of right to attorney and appeal with information given in a language they understand. Thejudge was scathing of the government's case, commenting that the court's time shouldn't have been wasted by trying to justify detention with no evidence.

This is astonishing given the legal expert in charge of the department!

OK, I didn't think it was possible that Trump was that stupid but I was wrong.
Trump *literally* believes the letters/numbers M S 1 3 were tattooed on Garcia's fingers.
The ABC interview he gave makes that very clear.
This is not a well man, he needs to be removed immediately because someone this insanely stupid puts our nation at risk.
Trump is Nuts

The USA is reaching the same point most of the rest of the world reached in 2015...or even earlier.

What I loved most about that little clip is the way Trump made himself look so foolish- it's not like Moran was badgering him about the issue, it was Trump who couldn't let it go. Moran tried several times to move on, and Trump kept dragging the conversation back. ("Do you want to see the picture?")

So...Trump is not just a stupid and ill-informed man, he's self-destructively stubborn about what he's stupid about.

ETA- in other clips I've seen of the interview, Trump admitted that he could call Bukele and get Abrego Garcia back, but he wasn't the one making the decision, that was on administration lawyers who "don't want to do this," not him. Didn't he just say recently something to the effect of him being in charge of everything?

He's constitutionally incapable of admitting error or fault, and can't let anything go. There was an interview (of sorts) in The Atlantic recently where Trump couldn't accept that he had made a remarkable political comeback, because to do so would have been to admit that he'd ever had a fall.

Way back in the late 80s, Graydon Carter called him a short-fingered vulgarian in Spy, and he was still getting occasional magazine clippings from Trump with his fingers circled and "Not so short!" written on it as of a few years ago. (He apparently doesn't take issue with being called a vulgarian.)

Anyway, they probably shouldn't have put him in Home Alone 2 is what I'm saying.

Why would he be upset about that, Dr Spock was the smartliest character in Star Wars?

On the first shlrt fingers=small appendage. On the second, do you think Trampy even has a clue what vulgarian means.

And foreigners eating cats and dogs. Which of course the cult believed.

yeah i agree, it's ridiculous.

for me it kind of drives home that, in good times, skepticism, reason, and logic are fun little tools you can use to navigate life and separate facts from fiction. in bad times, it's worthless, since those things just don't matter.

These things require doubt.

People don't want to follow doubt, they want to follow cast-iron, badly thought out, illogical certainty.
