Merged Dragon*Con 2011 - Roll Call, Forum Badges, and Other Stuff

So apparently all the hotels are all booked - anybody got advice on somewhere that might nice to stay at besides the host hotels? Google is hard.

I'd pick a hotel within walking distance of a MARTA station. There's a MARTA stop about a block from where the SkepTrack stuff is happening. Check out http://itsmarta.com

I'd recommend looking between the Lenox and Chamblee or Doraville stations. The area is pretty cool. Also North Springs and Dunwoody are easy enough to walk around in. (Those aren't the only safe places in Atlanta or anything, but those are the areas I'm most familiar with.)

As for the Star Party: http://www.atlantaskeptics.com/starparty/

Here is the table as it currently stands:

[table=head]Forum Name | Real Name (optional) | Costume? | Star Party? | Notes
Phlebas | Jubilicious Cornpone | nude pilgrim | Yes | Will have spare humidity if anyone runs out
spruce22 | Steven Schuldt | Intoxicated Man | Don't know what is | First DragonCon
Wowbagger | Mitch Lampert | Spaceman Spiff | Yes (I hope) | Will be making Forum badges.
[/table]

I suspect that some of it is not really accurate.

I will be at Dragon*Con, but I don't want a Forum badge. Thanks anyway, Wowbagger!

Btw, anyone interested in swinging a hammer at me at Dragon*Con? ;)

Thanks for the info guy.

I went ahead and got a room at the Ritz Carlton, as it seemed to be close to the other host hotels, and they were the only ones booking online at 3:00 AM or whenever I did it.

I might be open to splitting the room with somebody, (supposed to be 2 queen beds, but not guaranteed) but I'd need to talk to said person first. I'm will to work with people on the price, depending on having talked / gotten to know you a little over the interwebs.

So hit me up if anyone is interested. Monocle's, Tuxedos or Formal Dresses required.

Oh, cool. I didn't realize the Ritz had rooms left.

Yeah, that's just a couple blocks. You should be good.

Okay, how does one add themselves to this list? I've got no idea how to do it.

Quote this, remove the quote tags, or ask someone to update your info.

Cheers.

If you don't want a Forum badge, you can add your name to the table, anyway. Just make note of the non-badge request.

Thanks. Tried quoting it and didn't get the table the first time. Probably a browser hiccup.

Dam, I didn't realize it was on on Thursday, won't be there yet.

As far as choosing the Skeptic Track, is that just something they have information available about when you get there, or do I need to prepare some in advance? I'm into scifi as well, so I might want to check out a few other things.

Here's the current schedule for Skeptrack (the header says 2010, but this is for 2011): http://www.skeptrack.org/schedule/

ETA: I don't know how up-to-date it is, though.

Mere days. Derek updated it over the weekend.

Ah, OK, good.

Should he maybe change the header image to say 2011? It's kind of confusing, and was the reason I didn't know how updated the site was.
