Neo-Nazi group disrupts drag story hour for children in New Hampshire
....A group of masked neo-Nazis disrupted a drag queen story hour in New Hampshire over the weekend, chanting and performing Nazi salutes....
While there have been demonstrations before, they have increased in size and severity over the past 12 months, Soldati said.
"This kind of response is very new," Soldati said. "There appears to tactically be a shift, even if six years ago people did have a problem with what we did."
Since June 2022, there has been an average of 39 anti-LGBT+ protests in the US each month, according to a recent report by the Crowd Counting Consortium, a research group that tracks the size of political protests.
In comparison, the group recorded just three protests per month from January 2017 through May 2022.
"The reason why we're seeing this here in this way in Concord and in other places around the US is because these people feel like they have permission to be violent and aggressive and loud," Garland said, citing a recent legislative campaign to limit some drag performances.

Because being Nazis really sells a message.![]()
Depends on who your customers are. Today's Repugnicans love that kind of thing.
And some are wonderful people!
You know, there was a time, maybe a few decades ago, when I almost believed that.
I pretty much got over it about the time Obama was elected. Since Trump got into the White House I have become convinced that anyone willing to associate themselves with the GOP in any fashion (and for whatever reason) is hopelessly irredeemable.
I can understand that sentiment however...I think those hopelessly irredeemable are the MAGAts and anyone willing to vote for Trump, DeSantis, or any of the more fascist/extremist Republicans for any reason. There are still those few GOP who detest such extremism and will not support it. Their biggest fault? Not speaking out forcefully against Trump, DeSantis, and their supporters. This is not a time for being quiet.
Their biggest fault is not renouncing the Repugnican Party altogether. As long as they are willing to share the name I'm willing to tar them with the same brush.
It's long past time for any benefits of the doubt.
They are Republicans and want to take back the name from the Trumper/extremists who stole it. They may have to eventually come to the conclusion that it it might never be the party of pre-Reagan again and just start a new party.
Their problem is that the party of pre-Reagan, with the exception of abortion, is in substance no diiferent than the modern party. The only difference is in the messaging, in that all the racism, misogyny, anti-poor hatred, etc. was expressed in coded language not shouted out in plain.
To get a reasonable republican party back, one has to revert it to pre-Goldwater days.

I would prefer Trump to Elizabeth Warren, who would have a drag show at a primary if possible.
Yes exactly. Warren is a dangerous ideologue. I recall wishing her the democratic nomination, but now understand how safe Trump is in comparison.Having a drag show at a primary is worse than a man who has been indicted in two separate felony criminal cases and is likely facing one or two more criminal indictments, has been found liable for sexual assault, incited a riot in an effort to illegally overturn an election because he can't accept he lost, is a pathological liar, has narcissistic personality disorder, never ever accepts blame for anything, is a serial adulterer, is a bully, and behaves like a petulant, spoiled tantrum throwing toddler?
That's some strange set of values but, hey...to each his own.

We are in 1984 and down the rabbit hole described by an alleged pedophile, though just a perfectly ordinary man who learned enough from little girls to be inspired to craft a work of unremitting genius. Plenty of drag culture in Alice I guess.
I do not have my own any more, and people who claim safe ground are in an echo chamber.
Fair appraisal if requiring precision, but the big picture now is not lumberjacks and Tootsie, but an evil hijacking of innocence. That requires accountability.
More random word salad.
The program has taken a sinister turn.if you're terrified of dudes in women's clothes a lot of other stuff might seem scary too
Unrelenting, fact-free, disjointed gibberish on steroids.Yes exactly. Warren is a dangerous ideologue. I recall wishing her the democratic nomination, but now understand how safe Trump is in comparison.
