Drag Shows!!

I thought I'd check back in to see if this thread had gotten any better. It hasn't. I'll check back in a few days again....

I have been using the word "bisexual" consistently throughout this thread. I am using the word bisexual the way I used it about myself in 1972. I am using it in the way bisexual groups used it in the seventies. I am using it the way the people in two bisexual groups I am in use it (and yes, we discuss it a lot as new members often wonder if they really are bisexuals, to which we usually give the standard definition and tell them labels don't matter.

I don't know of any other definition. I don't even understand the definition Thermal have.

OK, here was the thing that was puzzling you.

I gave an example from real life.

How exactly is that dishonest???

Missed this one. Conceded, Robin, there might very well be more options than the one I gave if we dump on vague gender IDs and spirit animals and stuff . From an orientation standpoint, though, There Can Only Be One: a guy who is into other guys, ie a gay man. Whether said gay man is also into babes is a separate issue; it would still have to be a guy that is sexually into guys to functionally work out. It's only when we start up with the wishy-washy gender thing that all the other terms get piled on. That's why I specifically said "orientation wise".

Regarding the dishonesty, that is strictly you saying "she" when you knew damn right well in context that would be interpreted as meaning a woman.

:boggled: No stranger than a male telling me what females think about drag.

Consistently I have told you what the females in my life think of drag,, I have been explicit about that.. That is not telling you what females think of drag

Right at the start I mentioned that some feminists have a problem with drag.

Well I cited one right pronto from a medical site. It does not agree with yours entirely.

And that's why I am cranky (sidebar- I don't mean to lay into you, man. This is all stuff I'd like to get a better understanding about, and every time I ask about it, I get this horse **** Riddle of the Sphinx treatment. It's maddening). I'd love to just get a straight answer once in a while without word games.

Great. When you do, maybe you could answer the direct questions posed to you that you slunk away from.

Slunk away from? Nah. I don't play that game. I just recognized that it had become yet another one of those "no one's going to change anyone's mind but they'll keep trying", "I'm going to get the last word", "hill to die" on threads. So I decided not to bother wasting my time and banging my head against a brick wall. But I guess some people just enjoy getting a headache from the looks of the thread.

Someone said that by my definition I might be what they call a heterosexual.

Which suggests what they mean by heterosexual is someone who does not mind if the person they are having sex with has a vagina or a penis.

I must have been massively misinformed about heterosexuals then

Onr thing you were asked was to show where "I was shown in RuPaul's own words that he identifies as a woman and I chose to ignore it" in this thread.

Pretty straightforward, yes? No headbanging of hill dying. Just you demonstrating that you are not making things up to pretend to win.

Here is the one Thermal found from.s medical site:

"What is bisexuality?
Bisexual people are attracted to more than one gender and may have sexual and romantic relationships with other people regardless of gender identification or genitalia. "

Thats almost exactly what I said. We are not hung up on sex or gender.

Yet they elaborated with two other orientations, of which one was more consistent with my usage, yet you felt compelled to correct me as if I was wrong. Why, if my usage was correct?

Err..you seem to be the only one in this thread claiming RuPaul identifies as a woman, and you're using a quote of his saying he doesn't care what you call him so long as you call him to prove it.

Don't start. I have never said he identifies as a woman, and I don't think he does. I think he's on the fluid/non-binary spectrum.

Please don't lie. It just pisses everyone off.

You was given that for RuPaul i.e. his own words and how he lives his life as a man who does a drag performance, you have decided to ignore it.

I would say "clearly" is not the correct word. You asked and I answered: "Yes, as a gay man. If he identified as a woman, do you think he'd be married to a GAY man?"
As for rereading your posts in 'that light' I defer to Darat's comment:

I suggest you read what Darat actually said and what I deferred to. It is not what YOU say we said.
As you can see, there was no reason for me to "slink away" from the thread or from your question.

This started because someone suggested that a person in a relationship with a transwoman could not be regarded as a bisexual.

I don't see how. If we regard a transwoman as a woman then we are attracted to women so no conflict

If you regard her as a man then no conflict either because we are attracted to men

So by what definition would be contradicted by a bisexual in a relationship with a transwoman?

Yet they elaborated with two other orientations, of which one was more consistent with my usage, yet you felt compelled to correct me as if I was wrong. Why, if my usage was correct?

Incidentally, which one did you think was more consistent with your usage?

Can you show him ever saying that? In every interview I can find when he talks about himself he “identifies” as a gay man.

Incidentally, that wasn't the question I asked you.

Taking it from the top, and please man, drop the combativeness and any screwed up preconceptions you have about where I'm coming from:

I'm a straight guy. I likes my babes. By that I mean the whole XX chromosomal package with boobs and the works, not some dude that is feeling womanish. You with me so far?

I have zero tolerance for some twat that would give anyone **** for being who they are, and I'd beat the Confederate flag tattoo right off the ass of any prick who said you or I have any different rights or privileges based on who or what we are. Still with me?

I am also very interested in how other people experience things. Like, I'm sympathetic to religious types, too. And I'm interested in an empathetic way to get a handle on this whole trendy gender thing. I've been round and round with it on multiple threads. Still with me?

Here's the kicker: I am also highly pragmatic, and every freaking time I ask about this stuff, I am given preachy and condescending answers that border on insulting. All revolve around playing word games, especially with the G Word. It's meaning will change from meaning how the person feels, to how they look to others, to their actual sex, depending on what is convenient for their argumentation at the moment. Often in the same replies.

Do you get why an hombre such as myself would have a very short fuse for evasive and vascillating answers after years of the same thing? It's hard to understand something when respondents won't be direct.
