Huntster is back?!! Our bet still stands, btw. Once a bigfoot is collected and proven to exist, I fly up to Alaska and treat him to a prime rib at the steakhouse of his choice.

LOL....I guess after running off all skeptics, they felt it was safe to release him from his purgatory of the premium section. You might think twice about breaking bread with him, if you saw some of the stuff he's posted in the premium section....pretty scary stuff.

Kind of where I am with this stuff. We need to protect the stupid and gullible, but sometimes they go out of their way to make it difficult to do that.

While I certainly agree that anyone who has done just some basic research on flora, fanua and its history in the U.S. , could conclude a giant monkey man is roaming the U.S., is an idiot or gullible.
For someone in the position of Meldumb to attempt to take advantage of them is the real travesty and embarrassment to the institutions of higher learning.
The dangerous part for someone in Meldumbs postion, is when he was organizing(Falcon Project) these ignorant fools to be armed and wandering around the woods hunting the fallacy he promotes. Nothing like a bunch BFF'ers wandering around attempting to shoot something on two legs!
For those that don't know a component of the Falcon Project was to have ground teams with rubes like Nathanfooter doing armed ground research to locate monkey men then do fly overs to film the monkey men.

I never liked Huntster. Never could force myself to pay much attention to him and never thought much of his views or attitude. He did lack a few other basic human traits too, like intelligence and, umm, intelligence. Which is ironic because he always seemed like he was desperately trying to play the 'sage old timer' role. He needed to look up the term sage. In truth I know very little about him except that he's in Palmer, Alaska now and grew up in Southern California (as did I).

I will also say that I absolutely know he only hunts alone. How could I know that? Because he is that guy who if you went out on a two week hunting trip with him, at some point in that trip you would kill him just to make him go away. And since he's still living, alone it is. Back in the day his arrogant stubbornness online was almost unbearable in terms of a reasonable discussion, so I'd hate to see what else he lacks up close and in person. I'd bet a lot of money he's another poster child for the Dunning-Kruger effect.

His posts are still unbearable. As soon as they let him out of his cage he became the 20th person on my ignore list. :)

Thankfully a bigfoot will never be found. I'm in a nasty exchange with Huntster in the premium section of the BFF. The "Tar Pit" is an unmoderated cesspit. I participate in the politics section only these days. It's about as close to the front row of a Trump rally as I could ever get without actually attending.

Huntster unmoderated is a vile, nasty creature. He is petty, hate filled (right now he is losing a pedantic semantics argument with me about using hate as a noun, rather than hatred) and destructive. When I expressed support for LGBQT rights, he promptly told me that he hopes someone sexually assaults my wife in a public washroom.

He gets back slaps and chuckles from the other MAGA idiots in there. He is seen as a stand up guy, even a great American hero holding his own out there on the last frontier. He is a truly wretched person. He uses Christianity as a reason to foment violence and bigotry.

There really is nothing nice that can be said about that guy. When I used to just talk about bigfoot with those people, it was fine. I was always on the other side of the argument, but it was just bigfoot. Stepping into the political argument with them has been a real eye opener.

D I’ll be joining you in the tar pit in a couple of weeks.

General board is dead except for the occasional verbal diarrhea from munns and high fives from the usual conspiracy theorists.

Hey SMS, I look forward to the company. There is not much discussion. It's more just one dozen people exchanging insults with one person.

Yes, he’s definitely a freaking psycho. He’s the type that loses it and goes to town with a semi-automatic.

I don't intend this to be as snarky as it might sound, but *why* were you at all surprised to learn that an aggressive, unhinged, irrational butt-monkey in his publicly moderated conversations about bigfoot was the same way in his private conversations about politics?

I never liked him either, but mostly because people kept confusing him with me because our user names were similar (I used to be Huntsman).

My vision was clouded, I suppose, by seemingly rational conversations I'd had with him. As long as he and I did not discuss bigfoot, we tended to get along okay-ish. We had a couple of decent conversations about history and recent scholarship dealing with The Third Reich (Kershaw). I was surprised to discover he was as well read as he seemed. We even had a pleasant enough chat about his daughter working for the state police in an admin capacity and what career options might be open to her. Stuff like that.

But as soon as I started to participate in a couple of Trump threads, things went downhill very quickly. Not just with Huntster, but with all of the membership, in fact--which is to say the 6 people that participate in the Tar Pit. I don't bother with the bigfoot discussions anymore. No point whatsoever to that merry go round.

There are no boundaries down there in the Tar Pit. When he expressed a desire for horrible things to happen to my wife, I expected maybe one or two of the regulars who I had always got along quite well with, to maybe pipe up and say, "dude, that's too far". Nope. Seems there is nothing you can do or say to a liberal that is too far. I'm persona non grata and reviled as a libtard now. It's still kind of fascinating to me to see their responses to certain comments or topics. Also, on a more petty note, and I'm ashamed to admit it, but exchanging unfettered insults with a Trump supporter can be kind of fun.
