In the MDC thread, edge stated that he had contacted the IIG about their paranormal challenge. I called the guy who heads the group today and he confirmed that edge had contacted him. Since from this point on, this has nothing to do with the Randi challenge so I thought I'd start a new thread so we can keep up with the latest dowsing-by-edge activity.

So, edge, what was discussed in your conversation with Jim and what are the next steps?

Well to go to LA., will take funds and a new vehicle.
For them to go to Coffee Creek will take funds and there's a good chance on reproducing a very good score there.
In La., I would have to seek out those perfect places that spot of neutrality.
I seen what they did to the last dowser and I know why he or she, (couldn't tell where the metal was), failed.
They said they would read Specktators protocol and e-mail me in a week on that, and it's been over a week and I’m still waiting.

So what the heck did you tell them?
Lets see that heads up you sent them SezMe.
What kind of interference did you send?
Then I might post my letter.

I still have to make contact with Mary and Brian at the resort and maybe go up and prospect next week sometime, panning and sluicing to see if it has a possibility of supporting the operation and test.
It might all of a sudden be able to produce the funds.
 
edge, I didn't send IIG anything, either by snail-mail or e-mail. I just called Jim to confirm that you had been in touch. I recommended that he look at the MDC thread and MAYBE the other one. That's it.

What did you and he agree to?

I told him what he needed to know, everything you know about how I now test.
And sent the protocol that Specktator wrote up.
He said he would read it and either send a reply with the application or call in a week or so.
It's been exactly 7 days now.
If he’s reading the thread it may take a while.
I may have to go to L.A. and that’s not my cup of tea.
For $50,000.oo It’s a possibility I would consider.

I suspect because it’s very difficult to get anyone to take part in a well run test – not like the last ‘test’ on the porch of your cabin (no offense SezMe, but that was poorly done) - , and you have submitted to testing in the past (bravo!:)).

Well no, there are two ways, the way we did it is the way it's done on the creek yes dig or no pass.
It was added to the tests we did here for the total percentage, which was 68 out of 100 passes, it was used as the 8th pass of ten in a set of ten.
No matter I think that picking the metal once out of a scan of 10 containers x ten will be even better for me.
Or like Specktators protocol suggests a pick of 4 out of 5 the first time for the preliminary test and the 100 scans with a 7 of 10 correct hits for the final.

It proved to be a better spot; more neutral than were we tested here.
That means that there might even be a better spot.
I would like to get 100% correct.
This is the 9th day and still no word from the I.I.G..
 
Hi Edge , Im Aussie so im not sure but i looked up coffee creek is that in Oregon? Anyways u americans have cheap dometic flights Oregon to Lax one way is $110!!

You only need one way right ? You win the 50k then buy a nice car and drive home..I don't understand the hold up?

You wouldnt need to dowse much gold to get $110 , gold is $665 an ounce its all good mate ;)
 
Gmonster2, the Coffee Creek edge is referring to is here in northern California. He'd have to drive to Redding to get a flight to San Francisco, then a connecting flight to Los Angeles. It would be more than $110 but your point is well made.

A very good point. I would never have money problems if I could detect gold in nature.

True enough but Edge seems to need the prize money for some reason.
I guess it’s too much work to cash in all that gold he gets from dowsing.
 
I know the protocol still has to be accepted but Edge has said that he needs funds and a vehicle to get to La or to get them to coffee creek .. So that was my point.

Did another quick search on the flight cost looks like $200 us would cover the trip to LA... not much to get at 50k then its on to the million, a flight to oz to collect a $100,000 prize and UK its 12k pounds all up world wide skeptic prizes amount to $2.5 million... I'd put $200 on the credit card for that , wouldn't anyone??

A flight to oz, more like a flight to hell.

You have no Idea what La La land is like.
I've been there, that means idiots with guns and dope and territory, I don't relish going there, I would have to spend time there.
To go to a park there, could mean exposure to dealers depending on location of the I.I.G…
I have no idea what I'm up against. I need to know their exact location. These are things I have to take into consideration and I have to research more.

The ball is in their court and still no word.
This is the middle of dredging season and everything was set up here.
The thermometer on my truck was buried past 120 degrees yesterday.

I wouldn't go there till September or better October.
I am going to try to go and prospect Coffee Creek either Friday or tomorrow, to see if it has the capability to support a dredging operation, that’s first on my list.

For the next two months the plan was to be in the water not hell.
I’ll probably have to go to La hell soon enough. :):):)

Your objections about going to LA, though, simply sound like paranoid rationalizations. Despite your perceptions to the contrary, most people in Los Angeles don't get mugged, don't get murdered, don't get robbed, don't get carjacked, and don't witness drug deals. You can, of course, put yourself in a position to increase the odds that you will experience all that, but it isn't necessary to get to the IIG.

Regards their tardiness in getting back to you, I have no idea. Might I recommend a polite follow-up email from you to them asking for an update?

I sent them a follow-up today,The I.I.G..

LA is the opposite of where I am.
I left that life syle so far behind.

Well if the LA crowd finds out you can find gold, you may never be allowed to leave. You would either be chained and forced to dredge forever to finance drug deals and gun runners OR you would just make all the talk shows on radio and TV over and over and over. That's one tough crowd.
