How nice it must be in Tennessee that all the state's problems have been solved and this is all they have to worry about.

Supporters, on the other hand, tout the importance of an "age appropriate" curriculum.

the so-called "Don't Say Gay" bill would make it illegal for educators to discuss any sexual behavior apart from heterosexuality with students in kindergarten up through the eighth grade.

Because heterosexuality is age appropriate?

I wonder what universe these people live in, that they imagine that kids only hear things said in school. That's why they're so wanting to bring back school prayer, because they noticed that even children from devoutly religious families grew up to be atheists because they went eight hours a day without hearing someone pray at them.

I wonder how soon before state Sen.Tracy Campfield, a 42 year-old single man, is caught tapping his foot in an airport restroom.

Okay, does that mean you can teach kids about anal sex and sodomy only if it's between a man and a woman?

Tennessee's Answer to the Gay Problem

After some convoluted maneuvers, a Senate committee Wednesday approved a bill that will prohibit teachers from discussing homosexuality in kindergarten through eighth-grade classrooms.

The quality of education in Tennessee just dropped to an all time low. I bet if you let the kindergarten students make the laws in Tennessee, the state would be a much better place to live.

There's a gay problem?

(Sometimes I think the only real gay problem is heterosexual people. I admit I'm not the most liberal of people, and frankly I'm a misanthrope, but one of the things that totally elude my understanding is homophobia. I usually consider myself a semi-bright guy, but I just don't get it at all. Maybe I'm just stupid.)

I, for one, think that children should be allowed to hear both sides of the issue, weigh the evidence, and come to their own conclusion.

Teach the controversy!

When one side of an issue is factual and based on evidence and the other side of the issue is just plain stupid, there is no controversy.

I think the 'Gay Problem' is a movable feast - when one supposed problem is sorted, the anti-gays come up with a new one. A bit like the 'Irish Question':
Sellars and Yeatman said:
Gladstone spent his declining years trying to guess the answer to the Irish question; unfortunately, whenever he was getting warm, the Irish secretly changed the question.
