Donald Trumps comes to London

For people not aware of our system of government: the prime minister is the top person. The Foreign Secretary, Home Secretary and Chancellor of the Exchequer are the three most senior people under the the PM. Gove should have been below Javid in the pecking order.
Thre's a logic to the Home Secretary not being automatically involved in a diplomatic (implicitly not-Home ) engagement. The "pecking order" of which you speak only applies at home, close enough to draw blood.

It's further from complimentary than anything you'll ever fathom.
I've seen fuelair's sado-sexual and coprophagic political revenge fantasies. This dinner arrangement doesn't begin to plumb the depths of what I can fathom.

Do you want to reel your hyperbole back to something reasonably adjacent to a sane assessment of what actually happened?

The reported experiences of past Home Secretaries disputes this.

A Downing Street source said there was a “fixed list” of people who must attend state banquets, including the prime minister, chancellor and foreign secretary, and there were in total eight slots available for Trump. The source pointed out May, when home secretary at the time of Barack Obama’s 2011 state visit, did not attend his banquet.
So the Home Secretary is not automatically invited. The Foreign Secretary is, of course.
