Donald Trump

I wouldn't assume junk mail is ever necessarily from whoever or whatever it claims to be, even if the claimed entity is plausibly that sleazy.

I briefly watched an interview of Stephen Colbert on highly government subsidized PBS, and found it fascinating for only one reason Why would they be wasting time and the public's money on this complete and total loser? He is not funny, which he gets paid far too much to be, he is not wise, he is VERY BORING, and his show is dying from a complete lack of viewers -Gutfeld, on cable, is killing him! CBS should terminate his contract and pick almost anyone, right off the street, who would do better, and for FAR LESS MONEY Or I could recommend someone, much more talented, and smarter, who would do it for FREE! The good news for Stephen is that the two DOPES on NBC & ABC are not much better than him

I watched Pres. Biden on The View this morning. The stark difference between him and Trump just as people was glaringly apparent. Biden's inherent decency, positivity, optimism, love of country, and humanity compared to Trump's extreme narcissism, negativity and hate filled fearmongering was like night and day. That Trump supporters want to put that dangerous lunatic back in the WH is beyond comprehension.

Very true. I was recently reading a news article while sitting in the car waiting for my wife. It was about what a lousy person trump is -- has always been -- and how nonsensical some of his behavior is. Yet some polls indicate it is possible he may win in November. After I read the article I started thinking about it. Suddenly it didn't seem real, it felt like I was dreaming. It was a very weird feeling.

He's always been the same. I often think back to almost forty-five years ago when trump was trying to get New York City and New York State to have him build the convention center on Manhattan's West Side. The governor was Hugh Carey (from Brooklyn), the Mayor was Ed Koch. trump claimed he'd purchased the site they were interested in and tried to get a deal. But the state and city people quickly discovered trump hadn't bought the property; he had a development deal with the owners of the property. If trump could set up a deal he'd get a percentage. But the state and city officials wanted no part of donald trump if they could avoid him. Instead, they dealt directly with the property owners. trump was furious. I can still remember the news conference trump held. The convention center project would be a disaster, he huffed. Mayor Koch was "an idiot."

The news media then asked Koch, what was his reaction to being called an idiot by donald trump? I saw the old news clips not long ago. Koch just shrugged, "donald trump can say whatever he wants." Then Koch quickly segued to, "But I can tell the people of New York, this is going to be a terrific project. This is going to be a terrific convention center. We're all very excited" etc.

In other words, who cares what donald trump says or thinks? It's donald trump!

Out of respect to our skeptic credo, it should be noted that the above quote featuring a younger Trump in a People Magazine interview never in fact happened. Nowhere, no how.

True, it's a fake quote. But it's also understandable how anyone could believe it considering the many moronic things Trump has said, including, "I love the poorly educated."

Read the small print.

"Image of President Trump's watch is for illustrative purposes only and not an exact representation of the final product."

Which is why there's no details of the make of movement, weight of diamonds or basic dimensions.

According to several watch collector sites blued screws on the tourbillion mark it as Chinese. A Swiss tourbillion doesn't use blued screws.

Heard somewhere it was being manufactured by Turbion...which if I remember is a maker of gaudy, showy made-to-order watches mainly meant for corporate gifting. Chintzy custom shell with, what I guess is a generic quartz movement inside...I don't think you will be getting a precision engineered automatic movement.

I don't know that brand (though I know of tourbillon as a complication in mechanical watches) but it makes sense they'd go to someone who specializes in corporate gifts. If you're selling gaudy watches for a hundred grand as a money-grabbing scheme rather than a sustainable business you only want to put a couple of thousand down on each one. You're probably spending most on the materials for the case and then a few hundred dollars more on an impressive-looking Chinese movement (probably with a tourbillon for added bling) and a cutaway face to show it off.

might seem kind of weird, but watches are definitely one of the latest grifter things. the alt right podcast guys all talk about their watches. and these alt right podcasts have gotten pretty huge.

in fact, right wing media is basically the msm now. between fox news, podcasting, internet radio, and am radio, it's all dominated by right wing shows.

anyway they're all targeting a particular demographic, and that demographic is really into watches right now.
