Sorry if this has been discussed before but I've always wondered. Is he going out of his way to pander to his audience or is he totally looney? What percentage do you think it is? I'm going with 50%. He believes about 50% of the stuff he peddles but he's obviously trying to make a living from his schtick so he pushes the other 50% of his bs to appease his audience. What do you guys think?

FYI: I meant to put this in the "conspiracy theories" section and not the "9/11" section so a mod can move it if they'd like.

I feel he does not believe a large part of it but this makes him worse in my eyes.

In the Willie Pepper youtube video where he discusses Willie Nelson I feel he us acting like crazy in a lot of the bits.

I think he's 100% in it for the money, just like any other snake oil salesman. He has a good grasp on who his audience is and panders to them very well.

I hear you but I think his heart is in it though, that's why I don't think he's a total fraud. It's like a faith healer, he knows he's full of it but he probably strongly believes in God at the same time and uses that to rationalize what he does.

I don't think Alex Jones is a skeptic outside of work but I think he has more common sense and doubt than he leads his audience to believe.

The egregious Alex Jones is a money whore

Alex Jones is a charlatan who does what he does in order to make the best living he can whilst expending the least amount of physical energy. He does so by bleeding the willfully ignorant and those among us who suffer from some form of defect in their world-view.

The funny part is that those Alex Jones' adherents that post here usually call us sheeple.

If he believed what he spoke he wouldn't be so publicly active - he'd be hiding in Idaho.

AJ has always reminded of John Goodmans character in "Oh Brother Where Art Thou".

But he's a masochist. This is what makes him a hero. He said on air that if he was taken out he'd be the next Malcom X. It gives his life meaning to believe in this stuff. He feels that he cannot run away to some foreign land, because this problem has already gone global. He feels that the only way to defeat it is to raise awareness. He's read to die and ready to survive. He fancies himself a leader of the next great American revolution. And, who knows, maybe someday he will be? But who will he lead? Could you imagine him as a leader? What kindof decisions would he make. Makes me think about folks like Ron Paul, who sound great, but at the same time are kind of scary because they would just throw on the brakes and think the inertia will be worth it.

I know Jones is absolutely opposed to the bailouts, but sometimes I wonder if the bailouts kept our economies alive from certain disaster. They still remain to prove themselves. Could you imagine doing nothing, though? I can't prove a negative, but I am convinced that Jones would blame the downfall of the economy as his long predicted disaster. This didn't happen, our governments did, indeed, bail out the banks. So now, the government is in on it, and is basically turning both fully communistic and fascist at the same time! And we all know what happens when matter and anti-matter meet, right?

Jones never loses. Either way, the news is always disappointing. He has a talent for exposing your fears of a waning future, and just shows you the worst possible news everyday.

I think he believes himself, quite strongly. He has been positively reinforced in powerful ways. If he is accepted, he is right; if he is rejected, he is even more right! He must feel so smug. Fire alarm, or is it? Either way he knows how to prove the Bilderbergers are bad with popcorn in the microwave.

But, whatever, that's just what I think...

At some level Alex believes it all and at some level he's selling snake oil to the rubes.

that's the one. Read Jon Ronson's "Them", or search for Jon Ronson here, as he has posted about it before.

Does it matter?

Does it really matter if he believes his own BS or not? I don't think so. Jones is still peddling misinformation and profiting from people's fears and paranoia. Whether he believes his stuff or not he's still causing harm and riling people up about fantasies of grand conspiracy theories.

Is he totally looney? Listen to this and decide for yourself.

The amount of things he's falsely claimed are "well documented" or "reported in the associated press" indicate he can't believe everything he says.

OTOH he may feel that he is lying to promote cause/s he genuinely believes in in an 'ends justify the means' sort of rationalization.

Bill Cooper was legit crazy was he not? David Icke seems like it as well. I don't get the same sense from AJ, but it's possible.

Aside from A Jones

Aside from whether or not you think Jones is an idiot or charlatan, try and explain just how building 7 came down? Just this one event in the WTC disaster.

When the north tower of WTC collapsed the falling debris fell on WTC 7. Massive fires spread throughout the building and burned for hours. It was those two things that brought WTC 7 down.

Here are some links for you to read on WTC 7:

The Final NIST Report on the Collapse WTC 7

WTC 7 and the Lies of the "9/11 Truth Movement"

9/11 Myths on WTC 7

Those links should answer your question(s) about WTC 7.

Before I even started to question myself and my opinions on 9/11, one video in particular made me feel uneasy about Jone's attitude towards some things he claims to be passionate about.

Most of us have seen this ofc, and most CTist say he was just blowing off steam, but the more I watched that vid, the more I felt he was actually laughing at his believers for being so stupid. As I have said in the past, things fell into place for me to bring me back to the real world from the rabbit hole, and while this video was not really part of that journey, it did at least make me think, which is way more than actually listening to his live show ever did.

lol... that clip was ridiculous.

I know it doesn't really matter to us if he believes it or not because we still have to deal with the ramifications from all the loons but for the loons sake, I'm somewhat curious. It's one thing if you've been indoctrinated or have mental problems, it's another thing being a total fraud. I'm just curious if AJ is an Elmer Gantry or not. Does he come home to his wife and say, "baby, I totally had them going today with the chemtrails, haha" or is he like "that car parked across the street is probably NWO". Either way, must be a ridiculous existence for him. I wonder how much he makes from his show (maybe 250k)? Anyone know the ratings?

I listened to him on Thursday, and he said "I'm gonna try to analyze this stuff without going crazy". That pledge was broken in 30 minutes. The guy's nuttier than a fruit cake baked with Payday bars, but he's sane enough to sell it for profit.

He's still a loony.
