Now, let's wade into their pile of semantic

"One of our company's core values is to have a workforce that is a diverse and involved team. We value the skills, strengths and perspectives of our diverse team. We strive to foster a participatory workplace that enables people to get involved in making decisions about their work that advance our common business objectives."
Where to start ... being involved doesn't necessitate "diversity" -- were the employees who helped win WWII with the B-17s and B-29s involved? Involved and diversity are two distinct concepts - this mumbojumbo is an example of mixing a clearly valuable value with an evil one in a desperate attempt to make the latter look good, kind of like mixing puke with Lafitte Rothschild and hoping the result is drinkable.
"That's more than mere corporate-speak."
Oh christ, give me strength - HA HA HA!
"We know that diversity gives us a competitive advantage. Boeing is a company with nearly 200,000 people, operations in 26 states, and customers in more than 145 countries."
It's left to the imagination how "diversity" gives anyone a competitive advantage, in fact it's left to the imagination what "diversity" is - since that was the title, you figure next will come the definition. It's not defined because, (1) they're afraid to define it and can't define it in a way that doesn't imply irrational racial discrimination and (2) everyone winks and nods and knows what it means - don't hire to many of them white boys, or we'll have our big customer, the government, on our backs. The U.S. sold thousands of planes all over the world, to practically every country in the world, for DECADES. How did they manage that before the advent of "diversity"?
"Still, we must do more than assume that diversity will simply come to us because of our size and global reach. To the contrary, Boeing spends a great deal of time, money and effort to become more diverse at all levels of our organization."
If it's like aerospace companies I am familiar with, this translates to eg sending mass memos to middle-level hiring managers to the effect of "Want to see a pay raise next November? - then you better suck in some minorities!"
"We want to get the most from our diversity. We want people to think and act differently - with greater speed, agility, and creativity. Those attributes are required in an increasingly complex and demanding global business environment. So when we say there is truly strength in diversity, we mean it."
Speed, agility, and creativity have NOTHING to do with "diversity" - they instead come from employees who are fast, agile, and creative. See again how they like to try to mix up their diversity evil into a big hash of other unquestionably good values?
"One example of many in the area of diversity is our commitment to the employment of qualified people with disabilities. For some people, in some circumstances, a physical or mental barrier due to a disability may impact a person's ability to perform the job functions in the usual fashion. Boeing reviews such situations individually and coordinates accommodation arrangements and education programs that work to eliminate barriers and best access people's skills and abilities in the Boeing workforce."
More ducking and weaving. Almost nobody objects to employing the disabled to do tasks they can handle. The REAL issue of "diversity" is one of race etc -- of meeting the quotas, and merit be damned, like at U of M where for undergraduate applicants being a "native american" was worth four times the points of a good admissions essay.
"We must understand that our view of the world is but one of many . . . that others see things in other ways."
Do they see avionics in "different ways"? Mathematics? Aerodynamics? Structural engineering? Anything with any real relevence to building airplanes?? What

"Diversity is about us - each and every one of us. The point is not that there are differences. The point is whether we can learn from those differences. The point is not that there are varying viewpoints, but whether we can recognize and respond to those varying viewpoints."
Here, the company lapdog who wrote this crap is lapsing into incoherence, even on his OWN terms!
"The true test of diversity within an organization . . . or across a whole society . . . is whether people build upon their differences ... or whether they are divided by them. Part of the greatness of our country is contained in the motto stamped on our coinage, - "E Pluribus Unum" - out of many, one."
The true test is actually whether they meet the quotas, as I am about to demonstrate.
