Director James Cameron rewrites religion!

ID, you have not restricted your comments to fundies; you have been rather all-inclusive. When I pointed out to you that you were failing to differentiate (124 & 126), you claimed you knew the difference, then turned around and lumped them all together again as "theists."

You object to the label "theist?" That's your problem? What on Earth is the problem you have with classifying theists as fundamentalists, enablers, and opposers of fundamentalism?

Yesterday over 10,000 people converged on the General Assembly in Raleigh to urge lawmakers to support "Family Values" legislation. In short, they want to force lawmakers to add a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage.

These people were bussed in from churches all over. It's very clear how religions, particularly those who call themselves fundamentalists, have become more politically active in the past 25 years. This is yet another example.

NC already has a law banning gay marriage. Lawmakers cite this and the dangers of changing the constitution for special interests. However, the crowd could not see the logic in this. To them, it's further proof of godlessness.

Thanks! I love the internet; you can always find follow-up info on stories that are otherwise dropped like a vomit sandwich by the mainstream media.

Good grief! Next we'll learn, to our surprised amazement, that the whole hoo-ha is a publicity stunt for a crap movie!
Who would have thought it?

BTW, if you have followed the blogs, there was a pretty elementary misuse of statistics in the Cameron program. It was produced so sloppily that their own statistican had to correct them. The Discovery site has since been updated.
