I had registered for the Dinner with Randi and Friends at TAM6, but I have no idea when this dinner will be taking place. Does anyone know? I'm trying to get my plans laid out.

Last year it was on the Saturday but it might be best to check with Linda, who knows all.

I was confused about this last time-TAM4-and compromised by just not eating. Was the meal part of the forum package, as long as you weren't sitting with a celebrity?

According to my notes, which I gleaned from the TAM web page: 1900 on Saturday.

It's on Saturday night, but they're trying to get the dinner scheduled at the Rio so those folks with tickets to Penn and Teller can get to the 8:30 show.

It appeared to me that it won't be feasible to do the fundraiser and the P&T show. I would consider doing both if I can, but if I have to choose it will be P&T.

If anyone knows differently, let me know.

That's OK - you can just donate the money you would have used for the fund raiser to Linda. ;)

If dinner ends around 8 and it's at the same hotel as the 8:30 show, there shouldn't be a problem, should there? (Would the show and the dinner be that far away from each other?) The info about scheduling the dinner at the Rio came from Linda a couple of weeks ago. She probably has soem updates on the situation.

Ha! You're right, I could do that in theory.

Unfortunately, I'm a rather selfish being and I will require some chow and extra opportunity to rub elbows if I shell out like that.

There'll be "a grrrreat rubbing of parts" (elbows, knees, etc.), and food - you can stock up during lunch. :)

I don't believe they would charge money for two events that would occur at the same time (I paid for both). And if they did, I'm gonna need a refund for that P&T ticket. ;)

I'm doing the Dinner w/ Randi and Friends. Anybody do this in the past? What can one expect? I get that it is essentially a donation to JREF but would like to think that there may be a chance to ask some of the speakers some questions. Who among the speakers typically goes? I would hate to think its 20 people and just Randi.

Anybody who's done this in years past care to comment?

Copernic: Ususally, most (if not all) of the speakers attend. Some years, they have tried to set it up so that the speakers move from table to table throughout the course of the evening, so that the paying attendees get a chance to sit with them all. Jeff Wagg could probably give you specifics on how this year's is supposed to work.
