Ding Dong the Rick is dead.

Given that the House doesn't vote on SCOTUS nominations, the same as they would be with a Republican House.

I know that SCOTUS is a Senate confirmation deal, but a Democratic House is a mandate from the people that Bush's easy ride is over.

Even if the Senate stays Republican, I doubt they would consent to Santorum. There are probably be enough moderates to avoid that.
There is also the fact that it's only 2 years to the next election. The GOP got hurt this time because they didn't clue-in to moderate sentiment (imho). If they put a nut-job like Santorum in the SCOTUS, they'll get hurt again.

The openly-gay sex columnist, Dan Savage ("Savage Love") has for the past year been pushing the idea for naming a certain by-product of certain...."practices" after Santorum.
Apparently this has caught on to some extent in the gay community; wonder if it had any effect on the vote?

Actually, it took up in more than the gay community - and it was accepted/voted on over a year ago . Just seemed really fitting!!

On the Daily show last night when Santorum lost Daily said he was raptured, the graphic that went w/ it was hilarious.

Good riddance.

I can understand that though. Santorum was Righty McRightwinger. A moderate conversative could certainly oppose him. What I don't get is how a moderate democrat could vote for a man who looked down on working mothers.
That's easy. Some democrats are actually republican conservatives. I say this, because I know at least one (i'm related to). She attends all the democratic meetings, is registered as a democrat, but will always vote republiican.

Good riddance is right. That guy is an embarrassment to the USA.
