I really, really doubt that Bush is so clueless or has the sheer chutzpah to try and put that moronic twit up for a SCOTUS seat.
Evidence, please.
Given that the House doesn't vote on SCOTUS nominations, the same as they would be with a Republican House.

Figure the odds with a Democratic House.
There is also the fact that it's only 2 years to the next election. The GOP got hurt this time because they didn't clue-in to moderate sentiment (imho). If they put a nut-job like Santorum in the SCOTUS, they'll get hurt again.Even if the Senate stays Republican, I doubt they would consent to Santorum. There are probably be enough moderates to avoid that.
Don't forget Bush nominated Harriet Miers.![]()

A very creepy picture of him and his family. Doesn't the younger daughter seem a little too old for a doll that's dressed like her? Creepy Puritans.
The openly-gay sex columnist, Dan Savage ("Savage Love") has for the past year been pushing the idea for naming a certain by-product of certain...."practices" after Santorum.
Apparently this has caught on to some extent in the gay community; wonder if it had any effect on the vote?
That's easy. Some democrats are actually republican conservatives. I say this, because I know at least one (i'm related to). She attends all the democratic meetings, is registered as a democrat, but will always vote republiican.14%
I can understand that though. Santorum was Righty McRightwinger. A moderate conversative could certainly oppose him. What I don't get is how a moderate democrat could vote for a man who looked down on working mothers.
It made me ashamed to be in PA,
but now I'm in KY.
iSo, in otherwords, you're still ashamed.![]()
