Dinesh D'Souza cries conspiracy against him and his book 'America: Imagine a World Without Her' by Google, Costco and The Law itself. Both Google and Costco cave to the pressure. His book "America' is now in the number one slot for Google search of the word America and Costco is reordering the book.

It's pretty unsettling to see his manipulation work. The threat of political backlash is obviously a powerful force. A bunch of conservatives are cancelling their Costco memberships because they've been told Costco is against the book and believe it. Lack of brain cells involved, IMO. It's extremely defamatory what he is claiming.

I'm not getting the address to work. I looked at the various sections on the site and I don't see anything about D'Souza. That particular site looks extremely left-leaning though. There's probably another side to all of the stories on that site. For one thing, Google and Costco are huge conglomerates. One right-leaning author can't possibly have that much effect on companies that size, IMO.

I'm not getting the address to work. I looked at the various sections on the site and I don't see anything about D'Souza. That particular site looks extremely left-leaning though. Costco is getting beat up on its Facebook page. Lots of people calling the company a liar. It seems really unfair imo, but I do think it got the reaction the author was seeking. Crying all the way to the bank.

Best bit about this story is hearing that D'Souza has been convicted of election financing fraud. Guess that must have been his catholic morality he loves to espouse in debates with atheists.

What happened with Private Parts was not political (it was prudishness), and it's all fantasy in regards to D'Souza. But that's alright -- you just go ahead and suppose it happened anyway.

I'll agree that politics can be a factor in many retailer decisions, but the figures for D'Souza's book suggest that politics was not the deciding factor here.

In a statement from CEO Craig Jelinek sent to the media (in hopes of quelling the continuing brouhaha), Costco revealed that D'Souza's book had been sold 3,753 times in its stores, "or approximately 15 books per Costco location." To the Post, Galanti said that Clinton's [book, "Hard Choices"] had sold somewhere north of 17,000 in the last three weeks of June -- about five times as much.
