Since all politicians lie, let's give them an allowance of 25 lies/year.
Above that, it ought to cost ya.

I don't think Trump lies any more than any other successful businessman. I'm not sure how we can compare them.

And that's what matters, right? He didn't COST YOU ANYTHING. Despite the numerous other people that his lies have brought harm to. As long as it didn't effect you, it's all fine.
May I suggest you preserve this (your) post for posterity. When you run for "poster boy of the amoral GOP" it'd be worth a whole lot of votes. I'd suggest you don't submit it as part of your dissertation for a degree in economics, though.
You'd have to prove that if anyone cared. He's not a businessman. He's the President of the United States of America. And he's a pathological liar, a bully, a white supremacist, a misogynist, a tax cheat, a philanderer, and is enriching himself with taxpayer money, laundered through his property holdings.
And for each of those items, you or Judge Pirro or Hannity or The Big Dog or Ziggurat will come up with "a lie" or "an example of bullying" or "a sex offender".... as a counter-example for attempted equivalency purposes. But in Trump you have the whole package. He's all of them. And y'all line up behind him in dutiful support because you're such fine upstanding citizens.
I'm reminded of what the definition of "is" is.

In addition to WilliamSeger's spot-on rebuttal, I'll repeat my challenge in case you missed it. I don't believe you or anyone else is capable of citing Trump speaking for 5 minutes, sans teleprompter, and not telling at least one whopper. "Liar" doesn't do him justice. It's a flat-out war against reality. Go ahead, prove me wrong.I don't think Trump lies any more than any other successful businessman. I'm not sure how we can compare them.

That's probably a pretty fair assessment. I think even his so-called supporters agree that he's a blowhard whose spews a lot of nonsense.Maybe his point is that trump's threat can't be a threat because it's just another lie.....

I say so-called because on this forum I don't see much support for Trump. People will deflect by talking about Obama, Hillary etc. but actual defense of Trump, not so much.

I have a feeling that Trump lives in a constant state of fear.Whatever.
He needs to be afraid to threaten us. Nevermind honor, ethics, or common decency. He's fresh out of all that, so fear is the only restraint we can have on him.

And BAM! You're right back to false equivalence. You just can't bring yourself to say it.
NO ONE IS DISPUTING that all humans lie. Do you understand that? That is NOT the discussion. The discussion is whether Trump, himself, is a colossal liar. Forget Obama or your mother-in-law. They're not part of the discussion. Trump is a YUGE liar. That is the claim.
Do you agree that Trump lies MORE than most, YES or NO?
As a Trump supporter I'm sure he didn't threaten anybody at least not with anything illegal..How crazy is Trump, exactly? Does he really believe the military, the police, and the bikers would rise up against the collective will of the American people in support of HIM, DONOLF TRUMPLER?
Lawrence doesn't think so. He thinks Trump was just running off at the mouth again. Crazy, unhinged, but just another squirt of verbal diarrhea from Trump's incontinent mouth, Lawrence thinks.
Interestingly, Trump didn't include the nazis in his threat, no doubt because he and his are currently accusing Democrats of being Jew-haters. So threatening to unleash his obsequious nazis on us would have been inconvenient at this time.
Lawrence makes a good case for feckless verbal diarrheah. But even if that's all it is, I wonder if we can afford to allow such threats to go unanswered. We don't want politikers to get into the habit of threatening us, do we?

What about the many times he clearly urged his supporters to assault people? Do you acknowledge that fact?As a Trump supporter I'm sure he didn't threaten anybody at least not with anything illegal..

I mean.... that's pretty much it. Why would anyone take anything that comes out of Trump's mouth seriously?
