Did I really hear that John McCain is bragging about the telecommunication act of 1995? He's got to be kidding me.

The telecommunication act of 1995 is among one of the biggest scams and ripoffs on the American people ever. I know, I know, Clinton was for it, too. Thats what turned me against Bill Clinton.

Instead of leasing the public airways to telecommunication companies for the good of the public for, lets say health care or infrastructure repair and upgrade and so on, those airways were auctioned off, thus significantly reducing the amount of money made by the public. Some representation.

Well, the act I believe you were pointing out was the act of 96. I wanted to be clear. If it was that act, there were also many provisions. One being that the lines be leased out for competition to smaller companies, which is where I recieve alot of my work. I was just wondering if there were other details you had a problem with or what your ideal alternative would be.

You're right about the year it was signed. I had forgotten that there was an election and the passage was delayed until 96.

The airways had ought not been auctioned off or sold at all, instead they should have remained in the public domain. I doubt that would have interfered with your business.
