Did anyone else fall ill after TAM8?

Well, you won't have this problem if you don't eat.

Just get all your nutrients from beer.

Given the number of "orbs" that showed up in my pictures, I'm starting to think that there was something seriously awry with the Southpoint's air handling and filtering.

My throat was sore and my feet hurt a bit, but I chalk that up to talking nonstop for 7 days, and being fat.

I had digestive problems at first, but they got better. I think it was because I stopped eating at the buffet. Or I could have gotten it from the airport. It's hard to say.

Anyway, I'm glad it wasn't serious.

With 1300 people attending, it's expected that a number will get sick.

A bit premature to call the health department if it's only a handful, as described in the original post, IMO.

I ate the lunches and the cookies, and felt no ill effects, FWIW.

ETA: So, yeah, I also think the OP could have had some other motive.

After counting the number of people who responded here and in another forum who experienced the same symptoms, I think it was a tiny fraction and not too widespread.

It seems to be more likely a communicable bug that foodborne illness.

Thanks to everyone for their input.n and see you all next year.

I normally expect some sort of upset stomach when travelling, but didn't get anything on this trip, not even the cold I usually succumb to on the plane home.

I'd guess it could be something to do with the fact that smoking is still allowed indoors in Vegas.

Not to get nasty about it, but this is because you used a flash. There really was no reason to use a flash at this event, it was plenty bright. Turn your camera's flash off.

Personally, I was getting pretty irritated with people who kept firing flash during the talks. The stage lights were more than adequate for anyone taking a shot at ISO 800. It was rude, it makes pictures look odd (not ONE person I saw had a balancing gel on their flash!), and most of the time they were so far away that the flash was pointless.

Very few people know how to use a flash correctly. The fact that it's distracting to the speakers adds injury to the insult.
