...sounds to me like you're saying our elections are secure. Inconsequential clerical errors might sometimes occur but outright voter fraud extensive enough to swing an election doesn't happen. Yet, in 2016, we knew that Russians succeeded in manipulating our election to Donald Trump's advantage.

Sounds to me like you've somehow failed to realize that subverting election security and manipulating voters via disinformation are two totally distinct ways to change the outcome.

ISTR reading about this in Blockchain Revolution: How the Technology Behind Bitcoin is Changing Money, Business, and the World, by Don Tapscott^WP in 2016. I think the book had an example of some jurisdiction or small country actually doing it but my copy seems to be missing.
