Boy this will open a can of worms, and a certain soccer coach is going to be in real trouble. By saying that Dear Leader guided the team through the game, he is admitting that Kim is faliable.

Because if Dear Leader took personal control of the team, and they lost as a consquence of his suggestions then Dear Leader did not guide them correctly

Bit of a drift, but I wonder if the reaction to the result of the Brazil/NKO match will be known in North Korea.

Everyone I was watching the match with, everyone in TV land who gave an opinion, everyone I spoke to about the match afterwards was delighted when NKO scored and admired their solid defence and gentlemanly play.

Admittedly, one of the reasons we cheered for Korea was that if the North Koreans could hold Brazil to a draw, it would make USA 1 England 1 a bit easier to bear.

Pyongyang, June 16 (KCNA) -- The league match of the 2010 World Cup between the DPRK and Brazil took place at dawn (Pyongyang time) on Wednesday.

From the outset of the match the two teams fought a seesaw battle. The DPRK footballers created good shooting chances, not losing their confidence even after losing two goals.

At about the 88th minute of the match Jong Tae Se headed the ball before passing it to Ji Yun Nam who powerfully kicked it into the rival's goalmouth, scoring a goal.

The DPRK team will meet its Portuguese rival on June 21.

Kim plays the long game. Losing in the first round was part of a calculated effort to subltly undermine the confidence of the South Korean team...which lost to Argentina yesterday. Now that the North and South teams are in exactly the same position, Kim's counsel will help the team to even more glorious/juche affirming losses ahead.

Thats not what I mean. Was the reaction of non-korean viewers of the match reported in NKO?

Have they been told that people watching the match in the UK (I can only speak for the UK) were cheering for NKO and errupted into several minutes of ecstatic yelling when NKO scored?

Sorry I miss understood your point. I think if they had won, it might have been reported. However North Korean people might instinctively know that football crossed political divides, and know that some people out there were cheering for them......just for being there
