Today's Fresh Air (NPR) will have both men on, representing opposing sides of the question of God's existence.
Not saying if this will be a debate, or just a statement/interview from both.

I heard this advertised this morning. I was tickled by the thought that, really, only the god question separates those two men. I'm sure that there are some minor points that they might disagree on (i.e. wearing white after Labor Day), but as far as science goes, they seem to be on the same page. It'll be nice to hear a rational discussion between the two of them, rather than the normal hissy-fit/debunk-session that normally happens.

According to the NPR.org site, the Dawkins interview originally aired March 28, 2007, and the Collins interview originally aired March 29, 2007, so it looks like the two won't actually be addressing each other.

Right; both interviews were from earlier dates.
Collins is rather hard to figure; as stated, he's down with Darwinian Evolution, agrees that Biblical literacy is nonsense, etc.

At the same time, he describes himself as an Evangelical Christian. (and unfortunately sounds a lot like Ned Flanders, including the little laugh)

Says that 40% of scientists are "believers"....
Sees our urge towards morality and ethics as evidence of God, rather than evolution, whereas
Dawkins pointed out the evolutionary adaptiveness of such behaviors.

Says God is "outside of nature", and thus essentially unknowable...

Sees the universe as "fine-tuned" for life...
