David Lynch *sigh*

It's a shame thought that some people can't seperate fact from fiction, movies from reality. They can be both very interesting in their own way.

That actors and filmmakers are so easily conned to the dark side should not surprise anyone...

Who would you think more likely to be a CTer?

1.
A. Juliette Lewis
B. Your Accountant

2.
A. Whoopie Goldberg
B. Your Doctor

3.
A. David Cronenberg
B. Your Governor

4.
A. Tom Cruise
B. Your Highschool Math Teacher

See...if you are being honest, most of you would pick A in all of the above, or atleast most of them...

Ouch, that hurts! Can I stop now?

All right. Actually, I should be ashamed of myself. I have worked with actors on a daily basis. By and large, the profession rewards the prettiest of people who can learn to say and stand what and where they're told, and they are surrounded by the slightly less pretty who are even more eager to speak and stand what and where they are told. The number of Hollywood actors who have skipped high school (let alone college) is legion.

But some of us have cracked a book. :)

Well, I wasn't trying to smear actors with that comment, anyway. My wife is a drama major, and my twin daughters are actors/singers, (yes, I live in a house full of drama queens, thank you!) and they aren't loony toons. But as far as lending credibility to their arguments, I think they're pretty heavy on the Hollywood side and very, very light on the science/engineering side. Not the best way to promote a serious scientific argument!

I can hear it now; "I'm not a scientist, but I played one on TV! So believe me when I tell you 9/11 was an inside job!"

I guess I am in for a big punch in the gut with my little post above then...lol..

ok, well my brother is a starving filmmaker, so I am allowed...Sibling Law 4B.

go rule8 urself. Got to remeber that one. Anyone who listnes to anything an actor has to say is in trouble. When in college the only ones dumber then students in the drama classes where the ones in journalism classes. As always think for yourself. You will be much happier. Go Bears. Final score this sunday Bears 23-Colts 17.

No way...colts 24-Bears 21.

I did three productions in high school. I played a major role in two, and was the understudy in the third, which got me promoted to the starring role when the actor who was supposed to play my part mysteriously disappeared...

Celebrities do not equal credibility. They are not engineers. They are not architects, They are not builders. They are not scientists. They have built nothing. have designed nothing, have invented nothing, I could care less who they are. in fact had it not been pointed out in this forum who David Lynch is I would never had known or even cared. Thats how much they impress me.

Just to point out some of these people are not "celebrities". They are filmmakers, and some of them are highly respected and successful artists and storytellers. It just happens that this has made them famous. Certainly their area of expertise is entirely irrelevant to the topic of 9/11, but they shouldn't be lumped in with the likes of Paris Hilton and the other "famous for being famous" sorts.

I studied drama at high school, was the lead in my final year play, was an honour student with a scholarship bursary, have a degree, know how to fix my own car, and I'd like to think my efforts here demonstrate I have a grasp of technical things.

Another student in my drama classes at school was the Dux in my final year, and was head boy. Another drama classmate and friend is now a forensic technician.

Stereotypes don't help anyone.

Yep, he seems to be on our side. Don't like it?

What do you think about?

Ed Begley.
Ed Asner.
James Brolin.

I think you need to get a better list of people on "your side" if you want to convince anyone of your lies.

Some of the things I've seen on the Biography channel on celebrities are pretty eye-opening. In most cases, famous actors didn't just luck into their fame, they had to form a strategy and work hard at making it happen. I was especially blown away by the biographies of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sonny Bono. These guys aren't nearly as dumb as they're made out to be.
