Two things: I had no interest in this "trick" (just what is this supposed to be anyway) until people started harrassing Blaine. Month and a half in a box? No big deal. Month and a half in a box as a target? Now I'm sort of interested.
Second is: All of the reported rowdiness and alleged thuggery and sabotage attempts could be nothing more than a put-on. Hire some folks to constantly harrass Blaine, thus keeping him and the stunt in the news. Then, on the big day, some viscious person, also hired, cuts Blaines ropes or otherwise sends him falling to his doom. Blaine "miraculously" escapes oblivion to the roar of the crowd.
That's my irresponsible speculation anyway.
