And yet he continues to live. The new pump that was installed in his chest has a continuous flow, rather than a pulsing one. Most of the time I don't even notice my pulse, unless I'm exercising or lying still in bed. It would be strange to not feel it in those circumstances.

they discuss it at about 5:20 into the vid

This story is a lot creepier than it really should be. People have been receiving artificial organs for quite a while. I suppose it's the fact that we associate a heartbeat with being alive.

to me its a creepy story because it is about him :boxedin:

Robert Redford blames Cheney for the BP spill and wants him fired....

"It has. Look, all that stuff has come out, and it's painfully obvious what's happened -- the corruption that came with MMS as a result of Dick Cheney and how he engineered this whole thing.

You got to get rid of Cheney and every -- and all the horses he came in with. You got to get rid of his energy policy. It's bad for our health. It's bad for our economy. It's bad for our future."

Note to R.R.: Cheney has been out of office for nearly two years.

After five heart attacks and heart surgery, he still looks more alive than Redford.

So, he's hooked up at night, while he sleeps, to a power adapter? That, along with having no more 'pulse', really makes this guys seem non-human. :boggled:

It's really amazing how far the world has come with medical technology. Is Cheney trying to live forever though? From what I understood from the video is this is his last way to stay alive. The guy said that he could change the LVAD out in 3 to 5 years which is the expected working time for this device, but how many times can he change these out? Forever?:eye-poppi:eek:

A vampire who supports gay marriage.

Because it affects him personally. That's the same reason Republicans sue, but scream for tort reform, or take medicare but scream about welfare, or condemn drug users but get caught taking enough oxycontin to sedate a small elephant.

Good for him, but it'd be better if it didn't benefit him personally.

We are still living with the corruption that the little creep instilled into every corner of government.

After five heart attacks and heart surgery, he still looks more alive than Redford.

Bull flops. Cheney looks as though he had never responded emotionally to anything sort of a serious injury to his person. You gotta do a lot of laughing to get the kinds of wrinkles Redford has.

That last time I saw Redford laugh was in the 1972 movie "The Candidate." How does laughing turn you into "the head of Women's Studies at Community College of Denver."

That's a really cool application of medical technology! We're very privileged to live in an age where such things are possible.

Oh wait- I forgot to play along with the thread. Republicans are EEEEEEEVIL!

i am sure Grim Reaper is to scared of Dick Cheney to come and get him.

That must be the reason why these people support gay marriage:

Perez Hilton
Jane Velez Mitchell
Suze Orman
Ellen DeGeneres
Rosie O'Donnell
A.J. Hammer
Clay Aiken
Barney Frank
Neil Patrick Harris
Jim McGreevey
Harvey Levin
B.D. Wong
k.d. Lang
Melissa Etheridge
etc

How do we know they would support it if it didn't "benefit them personally?"
