Thorkild Grosbøll, rector in the Danish National Evangelical Lutheran Church and suspended for the past eleven months for 'not believing in God', has been reinstated, awaiting the decision by the bishops. He was reinstated because his parishoners did not seem to mind the statements that led to his suspension and demanded that he be allowed to come back as their rector.
Last year in an interview he stated:
"I don't believe in a creating and sustaining God, nor in the ressurrection and an eternal life."
"I have the faith of my childhood, some people say. A kind of soft spatel putty that you can use to densen the cracks in your life. Impenetrable nonsense that has remained undisputed by thinking since the childhood years."
