CSICON Las Vegas, October 2016

Just heard the announcement this week about CSICON in Vegas this October. Think I'll try to make it.

Hello everyone. I have not posted since before last year's TAM. Disappointed there is no TAM this year, but I just registered for CSICON 2016 so I am hoping that will fill the void. I have been in touch with one of the CSICON reps asking about the set-up (will there be booths selling books, author signings etc.). I will post when they reply. I will be in Vegas on Wednesday the 26th at around 11:00am, so if anyone else is arriving early and wants to meet up for a drink, happy to do so. Cheers, and hope to see some of you at CSICON.

October is wayyy to far in advance for me to say anything with confidence, but I'm hoping to go. If I do, I'll likely arrive on Tuesday the 25th and, if so, I'd be happy to meet you for a beer.

The downside of being a lawyer is you are stuck planning your life way too far in advance. Hope to see you there dasmiller, and we can touch base as it gets closer to the conference.

I'm still planning on going, and happy to meet up with old and new friends.

Don't have exact dates yet, but I'll probably arrive Tuesday or Wednesday.

The Aria does sound more appealing to stay at!

Memo to self: 1) Find drinking establishment; 2) Drink; 3) Save two seats for AdMan and dasmiller; and 4) Repeat #2. I am on it! The Aria is much nicer than the Excalibur. I will be staying at the MGM Signature, which is right behind the MGM Grand. Happy to meet anywhere that is central for everyone.

Nine Fine Irishman is a most excellent suggestion. I have been there many times and love the beer selection. Hopefully you can make it and join us. By the way, I just heard back from the CSICON rep and they will have a book and merchandising area at the conference. Hmm...one wonders if I can pick up an Amazing Randi Bobblehead?

Wish I could go. Loved TAM 13. Had a great time there.

Alas, that trip was really stretching my budget, and there's no chance I can afford another Vegas trip any time soon. I'm just too far away, and the flights alone cost a fortune. I just live far, far too far away from Vegas. :(

Maybe some day, but not this year.

That's too bad, Sft. You would hope airlines (like hotels) might cut their Las Vegas rates expecting tourists would more than make it up on gambling (not realizing, of course, that a convention of skeptics might take advantage of this). But of course the casinos keep all the dough.

It was great meeting you at TAM, and I hope our paths cross again. Hope you're doing well!
