CRT vs LCD

Yeah I finally understand the true nature of a CRT screen. Thanks. Very helpful stuff.

Now my next question is for every TV manufacturer. WHY DO YOU CUT OFF THE SIDES OF THE IMAGE WHEN MAKING YOUR TUBES? My high scores aren't visible... :D

Yet another new word, thanks magic talking skunk person! My overscan entry in my Britannica encyclopedias is somewhat lacking I'm afraid.

So, my next question is basically just why CRT HDTVs don't allow the user the screen customizing and drifting options that CRT computer moniters allow. This assumes most HDTV CRTs don't allow that. I'm leaning towards CRT when I get an HD basically because of what I've been reading about the displays and I don't want to still be stuck with the curse of overscan.

Got me, I don't do much television. Just enough to get my favorite entertainment, The Relative Humidity Channel. All atmospheric moisture, all the time.
