Critical Noreen Renier web site closing out

I still don't understand the OP. Why is the website critical of Noreen Renier disappearing?

Seems like it would continue to be helpful.

Watched the first of those videos. It talks about how Renier helped solve the Zodiac killer case. It is also very vague. This was in late 60s and early 70s. However the case is unsolved. Ref: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zodiac_Killer
I believe the first detective video is about the "New York Zodiac Killer" (operated around 1992 in New York City), not about the California one (who operated around 1970), see these two links: http://www.karisable.com/skazzodiac.htm (search: Seda), http://www.gpposner.com/mind_review.html (search: Zodiac).

It seems that Ms. Renier correctly guessed that the killer was a Latino man, and not a black man.

Sure do. What the Detective are saying….https://www.youtube.com/user/nrenier04
Since someone else watched the first video, I watched the next three, which I will call #2, #3, and #4 (left to right).

Here is the most generous interpretation of the videos that can be managed without speculating on what was not there:

#2 (the Zodiac killer, in New York, apparently just like the first video):

The police caught the killer in a manner completely unrelated to anything Renier said (he was arrested for an unrelated crime and connected to the Zodiac crimes through a symbol he drew on his confession for the unrelated crime).

After the arrest, the police agreed that the man was Latino as Renier had said and that his friends called him Eddie.

Note that Renier did not say the man's name was Eddie. She merely sensed an Eduardo or an Ed or an Eddie or a D.

The police also agreed that the man lived in a brick building in an ethnic neighborhood near subways.

Note that Renier did not actually say that the suspect lived in a brick building or near subways; she only said that she saw them. Note also that we're talking about New York City and there are myriad brick buildings in ethnic neighborhoods near subways.

#3 (The murder with the bolt cutters):

Renier provided a drawing which was undiscernible in regard to subject matter. After the killers were caught, the drawing was interpreted after the fact to be of the murder weapon (bolt cutters).

#4 (Dudzinski murder (SP?)):

Renier provided a police sketch of a person who had been the primary suspect for years.

That's it. That is being extremely generous in the interpretations. Not once was anything said or implied that Renier provided any information useful in catching the killers or in convicting them once caught.

This is a perfect example of the type of thing convincing to the gullible and perpetrated by either the deluded or the fraudulent.

Just to add: Renier does get one thing at least partly right.

In a couple of videos Renier says that the police do all the work and she merely provides info.

It is true that the police do all the work. It is a stretch, however, to say that she provides info. What she really does is provide the need for extra work.

So there's nothing in those links suggesting Renier ever found a missing person alive?

Did she? What did she actually say? From your own Posner source above:
In this case, she began speaking in first person as Zodiac, saying such things as, "I have black hair, it's curly . . . I feel I have dark skin. . . . I speak Spanish well." During her July 16, 1990, Joan Rivers Show mind meld with Zodiac, she failed to identify him.
Huh. It's almost like she saw the composite sketch ("Evil Al Roker") based on a description by by surviving victim Larry Parham and released to the press by that time. An earlier victim (Joseph Proce, who died in the hospital almost a month after being attacked on May 31) also gave a description; and I doubt that "speak Spanish well" would have been much of a stretch considering that description and the neighborhood the attacks took place in.

That phrasing does seem odd. I would never describe myself as "I speak English well," because English is my first language. I would just say, "I speak English." Was Spanish the guy's second language?

I think he was (is, actually, since he's still alive in Great Meadow Correctional Center) at least bilingual. You're right, the phrasing is odd- more like someone who's hedging their bets as to whether the speaker is Hispanic or a non-Hispanic who speaks Spanish. Imagine that- Renier didn't actually say that "the killer was a Latino man," just implied it vaguely enough that the implication could be denied if he only turned out to be any man with curly black hair and dark skin who spoke Spanish. Sort of the same tactic she used with his name, as pointed out above by Garrette- "Note that Renier did not say the man's name was Eddie. She merely sensed an Eduardo or an Ed or an Eddie or a D."

Not a single thing. Every single video, with the most generous interpretation, shows the police catching the killer (not saving victims) without using Renier's information and then taking things she said or drew and retro-fitting them to match.

And I agree with the analysis of the "I speak Spanish well" phrase. A safe bet, vaguely worded to allow multiple outs, and completely useless in regard to solving a case.

Renier is/was either deluded or fraudulent, possibly both. She is not and never has been a person with what are commonly called psychic powers.

I would further add that there are probably lies in the videos. One of them talks about a letter written by the killer and Renier handling it on a television show (can't recall the name). I suppose it is possible, but it is highly improbable that such a piece of evidence would be released for that purpose. If it was, and I were in charge, I would fire the people responsible for letting it happen.

I hate to see these sorts of resources leave :(

I used to have a few good go to sites for chiroquackters, but they're down now too

I seem to have come in in the middle of this matter. Is there further information either here or elsewhere that provides needed background.

The parapsychologist would disagree with you as would the majority of people in the US.

I wanted to personally invite the skeptics in the New Orleans area to join me, Noreen Renier and many brilliant minds, to the upcoming IRVA Conference 2015.

The International Remote Viewing Association was started by a group of military officers who were trained to be psychic spies for our government.

Why would anybody need to attend a Remote Viewing Conference in person?

You've been watching too much of the movie 'The Men Who Stare At Goats'.

See my sig for my thoughts on the parasitic world of Psychics and Mediums.

Yeah yeah, Militology. A club for fantasy prone idiots.

They may have been trained by the US government. But is there any evidence that actually learned to do anything useful?

If such an ability actually existed and was in use by anyone, do you not think that it might be reflected in the media?

All those police forces and anti-terror groups who work so hard using mundane methods would really, really like some help.
