A few hours ago Orlando area "TV psychic detective" Noreen Renier celebrated her 78th birthday. According to a number of sources who have contacted me she celebrates her 78th while in rapidly declining health. Over the past two years she has undergone medical treatments for both lung cancer and heart ailments. As noted previously, while I'm certainly HIGHLY critical of her paranormal claims, I wish her a comfortable period of recovery.

There are to my knowledge at least nine critical web sites worldwide that cover Noreen Renier and other similar aged psychics, and I understand that even among the most actively viewed there has been a dramatic fall-off for information for those near her age. Daily views have fallen from several thousand a day (during years 1997-2005) to typically fewer than a dozen a day.

This fall-off pattern has occurred very evenly across other "55-75-year old psychics" beyond Ms. Renier such as Carla Baron, Laurie McQuary, Bee Herz, Sunny Dawn Johnston, etc.

So at this time I am encouraging critics who spotlight many of the elderly psychics to consider remixing the spotlight to cover some of the newer 'gifted intuitives' under 40. As part of this effort during the last 30-days several critical sites in the U.S., Japan, and in western Europe are being reformatted or closed. The 'Commentary by Sherlock' website too has closed down --- though it may continue to be found on search engines for a few more days.

Other parties may have additional announcements over the next 30 days.
I'd be interested to know how much the 'StopSylvia.com' (Sylvia Browne) site has seen in viewer drop-off since her death. Robert any info?

Bet she didn't see that coming! (Hey, somebody was going to do it.)

"Stop Sylvia Browne" has been largely inactive for a number of years now due to Robert Lancaster's own health issues.

Sherlock, can you tell more detail of what you mean by websites being "reformatted"?

And, are websites closing because it doesn't make financial sense to keep paying website-related fees, such as domain name registration, domain privacy, research and travel costs, legal fees, and other costs?

I run a website that I have to 'reformat.' By that I mean I am starting over with a total rebuild to what's called a responsive theme. A responsive theme will make it easy for visitors to view across all platforms, from smarthphones, tablets, laptops, and desktop computers. My website was originally designed back in 2008 and was built for desktop viewing. It has a bunch of other search problems that should be fixed when I launch the revised site later next month.

I'd hate to see your website close, although I it appears I should still be able to view various captures on archive.org. But what happens if those are removed or discontinued? What will happen to all the hard work you and others put into making your websites?

Noreen Renier: One critic steps away in peace.

I can't say what's going to occur for other sites --- but in the case of those who have supported and maintained "CommentarybySherlock.com" there will be nothing under that domain name in the future that is operated or managed by the current team, or me. Nor is anything planned to be posted under another domain name in the future by anyone I know of. Everything related to Noreen Renier will be taken down on it --- though every item as it exists now is essentially identical to what Renier herself is aware was posted in 2006 and 2007 by myself and others. The site could be reposted in a matter of minutes (under a new domain name) should any matter (such as a legal complaint) reach me or others, and all the data has been held should there be a need to reset the information.

But I'm hopeful at 78 years old Noreen Renier will simply agree to let the web site fade away --- likely within 15-30 days or so as search engines clear. I can't imagine she would be ignorant enough to invite a replay of legal actions from me or others as the site is already discontinued and "off" the web --- and will disappear quickly should she remain also peaceful.

However if she one of her supporters attempts to take a major media / internet advantage because of its removal there are many who apparently are prepared to fire up various engines ("new and stronger" I've have been told) --- though I don't plan to join such a crusade.

Earlier today I received a second and third hand word that the SCEL Skeptics group (Japan), the North American G&P Inquiry Group, and the critical web pages supported by PETER associates are considering whether to take down their Renier related sites. They are apparently concerned that as she hasn't answered questions posed on their site and that her own website continues to have libelous counter comments which require balance. Perhaps she will at least correct her own web site and stop her biting comments here on the forum about me and others. Time will tell.

As noted on the 'CommentarybySherlock" site, and previously here on the forum: During open court in her most recent bankruptcy proceedings, and under the authority and direction of Judge William Anderson, Noreen Renier legally transferred to me (Merrell) one of her assigned assets providing me with "protection against further litigation." That transfer was conducted after I agreed to pay Ms. Renier (via the Court Trustee against her debt) $300. The $300 was decided in a open bid process where Ms. Renier selected to dismiss the asset and ceased to bid beyond $250. I then picked up the asset with a bid of $300. Ms. Renier was apparently more anxious to bid to "buy back" her copyrights, which she did with a winning bid of $9000 paid to the Trustee. Much of the $9000 was ultimately transferred back to me (along with thousands of dollars from other collected assets of Ms. Renier) as I was Ms. Renier's highest unpaid creditor.

The court also acknowledged the right of me to transfer web site materials prior to her late 2007 Chapter 7 filing to the Commentary by Sherlock web site, and also accepted my agreement to cease using the title "amindformurder.com" as a previous web site cover. I provided this for a $300 payment from Ms. Renier. She was quite pleased in court with this arrangement. But one suspects her current attorneys may find her gleeful swap-out in 2007 a rather tough treat to chew on in 2015. Given that various web sites are closing down --- I suggest they take what has occurred and move on.

But of course there are plenty more legal agreement / buried surprises she's likely forgotten about and those too could certainly come as more unpleasant messes should peace not be at hand as the web site fades away.

The last time Ms. Renier breached a Florida state settlement agreement with me a Washington U.S. District court ruled in my favor that a breach had occurred. That court ruled she owed me near $45,000 with interest. She reduced that debt somewhat by declaring bankruptcy --- but given that the federal judge in that decision ruled she was not a credible witness and had misled his court --- its one road she won't have as an option (or way out) again.

And as her two federal court appeals to overturn that decision both ended with rulings in my favor --- those two have added some rather tough obstacles for any new legal actions. Again, I suggest a peaceful break. But the call is in her corner now.

My suggestion is she sees what peace brings over the next 30 days and how many other web sites agree she isn't worth the cost or time to continue to follow. Who knows? In another 60 days her's may be one of the few sites about her on the internet.

What about her Facebook and home pages? Will they remain? What about her book sales? Could you agree to buy the copyright on her books?

Just concerned that people might see her books or websites and try to find a balance on the Internet and be unable to do so as all those sites are closed.

As to her own web site domain, copyrights, and Facebook pages after her death --- I agree, it will be interesting to see who manages what.

Rather than having information and history disappear from the web/Internet, could the site not be closed to further comment and update but still available as a resource?

Ms. Renier has spent over the past 9 months a very trivial amount on far less than serious full-scale legal actions. She's apparently attempting to use overly generalized court complaints and subpoena notices by email (rather than actual legally handled cross-state procedures) to quiet down some critical internet postings.

My own attorneys have laughed at some of the actions. Just as they've laughed at her legal antics for more than 5 years now. But frankly I don't wish to take the time --- unless its required once again --- to respond to her last few months (or even years) alive.

The few number of people who still look up her name on the internet and might book her is clearly very, very few. So I'm not sure even as a resource that its needed anymore. I'm also sure she cannot afford to take the chance of pushing parties much more that can professionally respond with legal counter actions filed against her in three or four states (California, Virginia, Washington, Florida) but we'll see.

I fully understand your concerns and very much appreciate how much of an effort and your life you have put into the whole issue. :th:

However, the Google Archive (aka The Way Back Machine) has a number of snapshots of the site. The most recent appears to be from December 2014. So that your documentation will not be lost. This, I think, is important because so much today is only on the WWW and thus is transitory and ephemeral. Future historians are going to have difficult time without source documents.

Sorry, do I understand correctly that you, Sherlock, will no longer be hosting any of your Noreen Renier research online anymore?

Gord: Thanks for the support across the last decade with your comments on this forum --- and the same goes to Ernie, rjh01 and the many others who have rendered support and/or asked some tough questions. Orphia Nay: It's been a long time since I've been the "host" of the web site --- others have been managing it and keeping it active. But all of those supporting and keeping the site alive agree its time it can come down. And it will stay down assuming Ms. Renier renders some responsibility of her own and keeps the peace.

People have sometimes come here insisting that long dead "psychics" were the real deal, and with very little information about them available online it is difficult to counter the stories. I too hope there is some way of archiving the good work that has been done on this one, so we can still point to it in 10 or 20 years time when a new poster enthuses about the incredibly accurate readings they had from Noreen Renier 30 years ago.

Thanks for the mention. It is only via tough questions that you can improve.

Please read A Mind for Murder again. Your lies and misinformation is why you are closing commentarybysherlock. Come on tell the truth to your fellow skeptics.

How about you expand on this post? Say what lies have been said about you. Give evidence that what you are saying is somewhere near the truth. Even give some strong evidence that you have psychic abilities.

Noreen Renier: Apparently wants the web site back?

Perhaps its worth reminding everyone that Ms. Renier's original publisher (Berkley Books / Penguin) immediately withdrew her book A Mind For Murder after releasing the book with just 45,000 copies into their initial print run --- just days after I filed a lawsuit against the book citing that in several chapters it breached a Florida State settlement agreement she had signed. The book was filled with an abundance of errors and effective slander.

Washington U.S. District judge James Robart within months agreed with my lawsuit and in ordering the federal court judgment against Ms. Renier (along with an order for her to pay me over $40,000.00 with interest) noted “. . . the record before the court shows that it is impossible that Ms. Renier breached the [Florida State court] agreement in this case without some level of fault. She knew or should have known of the agreement, and breached it nonetheless. . . The court rejects Ms. Renier's claim that she did not breach the Settlement Agreement because her statements in [her book] A Mind for Murder are, according to her, true."

So what exactly Ms. Renier are you asking everyone to read? The very words that a federal court noted and your own publisher withdrew? In a second printing (under a far small publisher) whole chapters have disappeared. Are these the chapters you again want others to read that your own publishers won't touch?

No Ms. Renier, you've never cited even a single item on the CommentarybySherlock page which would qualify as "lies and misinformation" and I'm quite certain you will never dare attempt to do so --- because the facts as written have been supported by every eye-witness to the airplane crash event including the local police.

You would rather continue with innuendo and frankly increasingly libelous statements.

The real question is why you aren't willing to answer the questions posed on the PETER Group web site at http://www.gpinquirygroup.com/gpinquirygroup/Using an alias.html
